I bought the stub for my wife as her first fountain pen and she loves it!

A couple of weeks ago I found a freebee ball-point pen in the parking lot of the local public library. It was better than any pen I used in the 50s or early 60s. But I have moved on! I'm into fountain pens now! Though the free pen in the parking lot was enticing, I'll have or say that the Pilot Metropolitan is a much better value. It's made of brass, has some heft to it, and uses real ink! And you have a variety of options for nib width. Oh. yes! That's something else not available with the parking lot pens. Andthe Metro allows one to get into color matching. The metro is a great foundation for a burgeoning pen collection.

I can't say more than what many reviewers have said all over the web. These are good pens at a good price. I like to collect them. I learned how sturdy the body was when I accidentally washed a previous one in a top loading washing machine. Barely any scratches on the body but bent nib. Great pens. Great nibs.

It's a smooth writer and hasn't skipped at all. It's simple and straight forward, so what else do you want from a $15 pen? Per the reviews...both this Metropolitan and the Pilot Knight I purchased are both quality pens that are inexpensive and write smoothly...with a converter option provided in the price. True to review though, the nib does appear to write one size down from the western (EU and USA) pen manufacturers. These mediums look and feel like find nibs.

I love the Pilot Metropolitan with the stub nib. I use it daily. Inexpensive, but a work-horse of a pen!

These pens are really well-made for the price. This was my first stub nib, and I love it! It's narrow enough that I can write normally with it but wide enough that there is plenty of variation in line width.

Over time I bought The crimson variant with a fine nib and the green variant with a medium nib. Both are amazing with excellent flow and moderately wet (Yes!! even the fine nib variant is moderately wet), right out of the box. (I always wash and dry a new pen before filling it up). I wish they still gave a converter with the pen and not just the rubber pump filler. In the tropics rubber gets soft and "melts" with time and has to be replaced. Needless to say I got myself a converter. 2 cartridges are supplied. probably the best value for money spent on a pen. Writes better than pens 10 times its cost!
I went through a lot of issues trying to get the shipment outside the US and Ron was there all the while sorting out the problems and I'm grateful for his support (in spite of my many emails and calls to him with loads of probably impertinent questions and difficulties I was having).
Certainly recommend the product. Definitely recommend PenChalet.com for all related purchases

An excellent and well priced pen. It writes a little dry but it may improve with a different ink.
