Pilot Kakuno Fountain Pens Reviews
The extra fine nibs is excellent, I have used it as a replacement nib in my Pilot Metropolitan.

I realize that this is supposed to be a pen for children and beginners, but I absolutely love this pen and would recommend it to anyone. It's super smooth and bendy for a steel nib, and the smiley face is adorable.

Reliable writer that, though a student pen in materials, fits well in an adult hand.

I got the clear Kakuno with an EF nib. This is one of the finest nibs you'll find on an economical pen. The quality is typical Pilot: zero problems with the nib, everything works as it should. This thing writes small, but the nib has a very pleasant feedback, I think; it kind of zips across the page, with no scratchiness (so long as you use an ink that isn't too dry). If you need to write really, REALLY tiny, definitely consider the EF Kakuno.

I have a battery of these pens fitted with the CON-70 converter and filled with Noodler's Bulletproof Black; Platinum Blue-Black; and Platinum Classic Forest Black, Classic Lavender Black, and Classic Sepia Black inks for my crosswords. The price is right, the capacity is great, and the performance is exemplary.

I have a bunch of different colors, and they are fun to write with, and a good value. I like the smiley face on the nib. I know they are meant for beginners or children, but they still cheer me up!

This is my second Kakuno; It's a quality inexpensive pen. You get a moderate amount of feedback with the F nib. The smileys on the nib make it fun. :) I like the variety of colors that are available.
My only complaint about Pilot's entry level pens in general is that they use proprietary cartridges and converters and the converters are lousy.

The fine point is too broad to use on check stubs but great for general writing. I bought an extra fine pen for the check book writing and it is just right. The writing feel of an ink pen is just great, smooth and effortless.
