Pilot Falcon Fountain Pens Reviews
If this pen were an oil rig I would say that "I brought in a gusher." My purpose for purchasing this pen was for sketching, but it lays down way too much ink for a (sf) fine nib. Maybe it is the Noodler's polar black ink that I loaded it with(twice yesterday). Even though it's a wet writer, it's kind of scratchy too! I'm so glad that it didn't have a medium nib, I might have had to buy stock in an ink manufacturer.
While waiting for my pen's to arrive from The Pen Chalet, I made a spontaneous purchase of a Pilot Metropolitan Pop from our local stationary store. I couldn't have asked for a better behaved sketching instrument! It has a fine nib that gives a variety of lines. Even though I overpaid($38) for the Metropolitan Pop,it is a much better tool for drawing, and the reservoir, although limited, hasn't run out of ink in over a week.
I also purchased an Opus 88 Demonstrator from the Pen Chalets Final drop, with the extra fine nib that is a dream to sketch with, or will be when I change the purple ink out. I thought my wife would want the Opus 88, but she's perfectly happy with her purple re-inked Pilot Varsity.
I would say for a blind purchase that I'll keep as a reminder, the Pilot Falcon was an exPENsive mistake, but it gives me a story to tell about having money, but no sense.

I ordered this knowing I had a Falcon but it appeared to. Be lost. I found it prior to receiving the new pen from Pen Chalet. What a great surprise to see this one had Rhodium accents (the one I already have has gold accents). They make an excellent pair. Now I can have one on my desk and another in my pocket or with my planner for a consistent look across all of my writings! As always, Pen Chalet had the best price due to their rewards programs. I've accumulated over 200,000 point with another seller and they are worthless! Pen Chalet is rapidaly becoming my store of choice!

Years ago I used to buy cheap Scheaffer pens at the drug store and put in lever-operated converters so I could fill them from a bottle. More recently my oldest son took up handwriting as an academic study and he converted me to the Falcon pen. I like the smooth, controllable nib and the screw-type ink cylinder. I like that it clips to my shirt pocket pretty firmly.

Great for EF writing. Not as much nib flex as I had hoped for. The diameter of the pen is very small. Much more difficult to write with than larger pilot pens with my big hands. Nib tuned very well.

One of the pens that first intrigued me into joining the fountain pen community but I waited a full year before purchasing and it has been another year since and I can easily say this is a must have. I don’t really flex it much but the ink lay down on this is like no other pen. The shading it produces even with a extra fine nib and no pressure is on another level. I regret not getting a few more before the price was hiked to be honest.
The nib is so smooth and has never once skipped no matter how much I’ve test flexed it or how long I left it unused. Every time it touches a paper, it just glides across it. Pilot really outdid themselves with this.

Great writer, flexy nib takes some use to but not hard to manage. Absolutely worth the price.
