Noodlers Ahab Fountain Pens Reviews
Never used a flex pen before but I have a large collection of fountain pens. Love the size and flow. Need to use better paper ??

I really want to like this pen, but it's really given me fits (although it might be the Monteverde Fireopal ink). I discovered that the breathing tube shouldn't be inserted all the way into its hole in the back of the feed, otherwise it jams up the piston. I haven't got the flair for flex yet, and the nib is pretty stiff. I changed to a non-shimmering ink to see if that makes it better. Can't beat the price, though!

The Noodler's Ahab is one of my best pen purchases. The price is very good, and the pen writes very smoothly. I don't flex the nib, but I appreciate the fact that it can be flexed if I decide to experiment with that feature.

This is my 2nd Ahab.
I love these pens, but they are not for the timid.
The available reusable ink cartridges are a real plus!
The fact that they take standard #6 nibs is another plus.
They force you to learn to work on your pens & good for tinkerers.
I would not recommend any Noodlers Ink pens for those that do not wish to get ink on their fingers.
This particular pen had some issues with the feed that I was unable to correct with heat setting over 6x. It was just getting too much flow. I finally took an exacto knife and dissected a phone wire, getting a small section of copper wire & placed in the top groove of the feed. Pen works excellent now with the Knox nib purchased here. I will probably order another feed & save this one for a possible "franken pen" (calligraphy nib conversion).

A great everyday working pen. Feels nice in the hand and I am impressed by the line it has laid down. This will not be my last Noodlers Ahab.

Too wet for my tastes. And too thick.

After seeing many online suggestions, I thought I was going to have to tweak it. But after a quick rinse it worked right away with the Noodler's Black ink.

Very nice pen and ink to use in my sketchbooks. Dense black ink which, if I catch it still wet, I can make bleed with my water pen. Once dry it is permanent.
