I personally enjoy the looks and solid construction of this pen, and find the weight balanced for my hand and writing style (which always needs improvement). I like the magnetic capping and posting instead of screwdown mechanisms. I plan to keep learning and developing my tastes to eventually wisely afford higher priced (and quality) FP's in the not too distant future.

This is an absolutely stunning pen, and is quite a conversation piece. My pen arrived in beautiful condition, except for cracks in the nib housing unit - causing ink to creep up the grip section and onto my fingers when I wrote. I contacted customer service and received a new unit in record time. Incredibly satisfied with my purchase and Pen Chalet's support.

Obviously this is a handsome instrument. The magnet in cap carries the weight. So writing while posted requires hand strength. I'm writing un-posted. With initial rinsing, lays good ink and smooth monteverde nib flow.

I expected a very large pen, which wasn't so. It is medium sized, rose gold plated, heavy but very well balanced uncapped. What this pen lacks in size it definitely makes up in design and balance. The nib, a 1.1 stub, looks gorgeous with the black plating, however, it gave too much feedback when i started writing with it even though I used a lubricating ink and had cleaned the pen prior to use. Since this is a gift to my future husband, I want him to have the best writing experience possible. I swiped the nib over micro mesh until there was no more feedback. It now writes like a dream and i can see myself sneaking it from my fiance and using it myself. This pen is excellence!

This is an absolutely beautiful pen. It is dramatic to say the least. It does have weight, but balances perfectly in your hand. It is really very comfortable to write with and has an excellent flow. I'm so pleased with this pen.
