Monteverde Prima Series Fountain Pens Reviews
This pen is fantastic. With the right paper it glides over the surface with almost no effort. A pleasure to use and if you get writer's cramp with it, you're just writing wrong.

Beautiful pen but the nib is not great. This is my first experience with a stub nib, so perhaps I am expecting too much, but I encounter three problems when using it. First, it rarely starts right away. Second, it is pretty dry, so if I write with a little bit of speed, it starts skipping. Sometimes it even railroads on the down stroke (I am not applying much pressure at all so this is just the dryness, not over-flexing of the tines). Last, the tines are not evenly cut (one side is wider than the other). This is more a QC issue and I am not sure if it effects performance, but it is a little bothersome visually. The rest of the pen is really great. Color and design are beautiful, weight is good, and the balance feels right. Just wish the nib performed better. For the price though, I think it is worth getting, then spending a little more on a good #6 nib, switching it out, and then having a pet that is both beautiful and well-performing... (assuming the feed is not the culprit ).

Quite honestly, I'd read mixed reviews for the Monteverde Prima fountain pen. However, I found the purple & white swirl to be irresistible and bought it with my fingers crossed. I got the 1.1 mm stub. Well, it’s a fabulous pen and probably among my top five all-time favorites. It writes beautifully, is comfortable for short or long writing sessions, and has never given me any kind of problem. I can confidently recommend this pen and, of course, Pen Chalet who quickly and professional fulfilled my order.

I recently received this pen as a gift. The pen looks great with nice visual depth in the resin. It's a medium sized pen of medium weight with a comfortable, non slippery section.
I filled mine with Diamine Emerald using the included convertor to match the pen color. The fine nib started right up with a nice flow and after a couple days of using became very smooth (I firmly believe fountain pen nibs need a break in period for a persons individual writing style).
Quality is very good and I will be looking to buy other colors of this particular pen.

This is beautiful writing instrument, and certainly value for the price. Runs a little dry, but perhaps it will improve as I use it more.

Nice weight. But the EF is more like a F-M on a Pilot. And seems to write thicker than an EF Lamy. It's very pretty though.

This is a beautiful pen. I ordered the tiger eye color with a 1.1 mm stub nib. There is a lot of the deep luminescent-like luster in the pen material. The pen writes well with good line variation from the stub nib. It is a little drier writer than some of my others, but very acceptable. Writes smoothly and consistently.
