This has been one of my most used pens. I have had a very nice experience writing with it. No start up issues and I was concerned it would be heavy . I have found it has a nice balance . I’m happy with this purchase.

It took me a few sessions to learn to really like this pen, for it is much heavier than most of my fountain pens. The "broad" nib is very much that; it produces a "fat" line, not a sharp edge. I admit, I am pretty new to the world of fountain pens; I have used calligraphy pens for decades, and that was more of the style I was expecting with a broad nib. The weight of the line is easier to control with more viscous inks. This will likely never be my favorite pen, but I do enjoy using it for a change of pace.

I ordered this pen in Mount Everest and it is a visually striking pen with beautiful swirls of black and white. Looks much more expensive than I expected with the silver accents. The pen is a tiny bit longer than most of my pens, but feels secure in my medium-sized hand, even when capped. This was my second Monteverde pen and in all honesty, I had planned to never order another after my experiences with my first one (Rodeo Drive), due to the dryness of that one regardless of ink, but the colors of the Mount Everest made me want to give it a try - I'm so glad I did - this pen is perfect in every way and the flow in the flex nib using Robert Oster Thunderstorm is flawless.

Beautiful pen, nice weight a great purchase

I have two of these (Denali and Everest). They write so smoothly and are beautiful to look at. I like that the rounded styling and metal rings hearken to art deco. Can't beat the value. I hope to see more variations come out from Monteverde.

So far, so good! My first fountain pen purchase in awhile. Thank you to Pen Chalet for their recommendation.
The pen is lightweight. I'm writing without it capped. The balance and feel is good. To start the pen, I flushed it well. After drying, I used a Monteverde cartridge (in Charoite). I found I did need to work the ink down through the cartridge and gently squeezed it into the nib, in order to get the ink flowing. Once it started, it wrote like a dream. It's very smooth...I'm struck with how nicely the ink flows and doesn't skip or bleed. Would recommend for someone entering the world of fountain pens.

Visually a beautiful pen. Filled with Caren d’ Ache Chromatics Magnetic blue ink. Ordered pen with broad nib and ink flows flawlessly. I use my pens primarily for writing music and lyrics. The bold nib makes the writing visable at the distance I need to perform the songs as they are being developed.
