Lamy Safari Pastel Fountain Pens Reviews

The Lamy Safari is talked up so much I thought I should give it a try, being a fountain pen lover. Well first I can say that I'm terrible disappointed in the overall pen, it's heft in your (very light weight) and feels just like a cheap plastic pen. Then onto the very fine nip. I usually get a med nip or fine...needless to say this VF nip writes as if I'm using a scratching tool of some sort. I've tried writing with it but it just doesn't feel comfortable at all. The way the shape of the head of the pen seems like I have to look at how I'm holding the pen. Now I realize this isn't an expensive pen at all but I've bought several Jinhao pens that have a substantial feel in your hand. I will have to return this pen as I am not satisfied even at this price point. Sorry Pen Chalet but I will be asking for a refund or replacement.

I should have followed the many recommendations I have received about Lamy Safari FP in the past. I finally decided to buy one and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the writing experience for an inexpensive pen. I usually prefer a heavier weight, but the lightweight feel of this pen is actually pleasing. I may have to buy another...

Looks good, writes well, haven't had any issues with ink creep or leakage. The pen was covered in some kind of powdery dust when it came out of the box, but it all brushed off and didn't leave any marks on the pen itself.

Mint color is cool and fresh.

I like the look and feel of the pen. I bought two of them; one worked impeccably immediately, while the other is breaking in well.

I got the pastel pink in fine. It now writes super smoothly and more similar to a medium. I first used the cartridge it comes with, and that was a nightmare. It wouldn't start, it skipped like crazy and wrote very dry. Not sure what caused the change, but I now love it!

Lamy Pens are fine, and this one is no exception. I ordered the pink one. My only quibble is that it's less pink and more beigey-pink. I know monitors differ etc, and totally not blaming Pen Chalet or Lamy. It just turned out to be a color I didn't like as much as I thought I would.

Other than that, totally fine. And YMMV re the color. Some may like it fine.

I love the color of the Safari Pastel Rose pen. When I first got the pen, it didn't write like my other Lamy Safari pens. I contacted customer service and Jen was exceptionally helpful with sending me a replacement nib.

This pen writes so smoothly. I love it.

Bought this pen along with the Rose one for my wife as a gift.
She loves it!
