I like the Lamy line and was intrigued by the color options in the Lx version. Pen Chalet was great to work with when the first pen had a couple of quality issues. In both the original and replacement, the clip is not stable—has some in-and-out play that sometimes causes a little rattle.For this reason I have removed 1-star.Even with this issue I like the pen well enough that it will be in regular rotation for me. I echo a previous review that indicates this pen is a bit overpriced

Light but don't be fooled, very sturdy. The xf is perfect on the cheap paper we all get at work. Great writer from the first letter. Also Pen Chalet is there to back the products with honest service. 6 stars.

These are a nice version of the Al-Star. A little more "Luxe". The Al-Star is one of my favorite pens. Good size, reliable and a real value. I like the way that the "Luxe" dresses it up with the body color clip and buttons on the end of the barrell and cap. However, I don't think I can rate the "Lx" a great value because the price is SO MUCH higher than the Al-Star. Yes, the aluminum case is cool. But, am I going to carry it around in that? NO. The new nib is fantastic, it is so smooth! Overall, it's another great pen from Lamy but it's way overpriced.

This is my first Lamy and I now understand why they are so popular. It's really comfortable to write with. I got the EF to write on cheap paper with even though I generally prefer medium and stub nibs. It has a little feedback which is expected, but it writes really smoothly and consistently.
