I was looking for a larger sized pen with a hefty broad tip in a signature color. This Conklin scored on every front. It writes just right with a perfect wet feel. The fill is super and the sort-of blue tortoise is incredible.

I have trouble with arthritis in my hands and this oversized fatty of a fountain pen is perfect. Sits nicely n comfortable to use!

nib needed some work to flow like I wanted, and ink evaporated annoyingly fast, so the cap is not doing its job. pretty acrylic, but there are better, cheaper oversize pens out there.

The Conklin All American is my favorite entry+ level fountain pen. The are beautiful pens for the price. The clips are very functional. Nibs in the past were hit or miss but I heard they recently switched to Jowo nibs which are very good and will help ensure better writing performance moving forward. As you get on in the hobby you can tweak the nibs to suite your preferences.

This kind of surprised me. The girth was quite large. Love the looks. The only downside for me was I found the Medium nib to be a dry writer, and the nib felt a bit scratchier than expected.
