Lamy Replacement Fountain Pen Nibs Reviews
I've purchased 3 black replacement nibs. They're all very hard -- noticeably harder than their silver counterparts.
- The first one was a M, which was very stubby and very scratchy. After a little bit of smoothing, it's now a good nib with a bit of character -- and a good reverse writer too!
- The second was another black M, which I had to spend a LOT of time to even get to write. It's still very dry, but at least it finally lays down a line now. I keep it in case I need to tame one of my out-of-control-wet inks. But honestly, I never use it. Compared to my other black M nib, this one writes much, much finer (not just because it's dry; the nib tip is visibly smaller). Lamy nibs are oh-so-inconsistent in their sizing, and Lamy quality control...well, it sucks. I've never come so close to just throwing away anything fountain-pen-related as I did with this nib :(
The third was a black F which wrote well out of the box. I did tweak it anyway, because its sweet spot wasn't to my liking.

Love the Montblanc and Lamy fountain pens and tried all nib sizes including the extra fine. With the COVID-19 virus my friends and I have been busy writing a lot of letters to our fellow neighbors in our community to encourage them and give them a real hope, so I tried the Lamy Joy fountain pen to give my handwriting a more calligraphy look and finally settled with the 1.9 mm nib and it's perfect. Other pen companys were out of stock but Pen Chalet were there to help me. I gave a heads up to my family members how great the 1.9 mm nib works. Thank you very much!

This nib was fairly easy to replace and I'm enjoying using the bold nib (the fine point was too scratchy to sketch on watercolor paper).

My writing flows! So simple to change nibs on the Lamy Safari! I’ve been doing Christmas cards with the Italic 1.1, 1.5, and 1.9 and my cursive! The cards look amazing with the fabulous shimmer inks!!!

I love the writing experience with this architesque nib. My only complaint would be that it seems to be dry, but then again my Vista has always been a dry writer. The tines are pliable enough to make the nib wetter easily, so that was an easy fix. I’d highly recommend this nib!

The architect point is barely noticed with some inks, the effect is a bit subtle, but the nib does show a bit more feedback than the normal F. Needs a drier ink to see a crisper effect. Either way it's not a bad nib, don't expect smoothness, but at the $11 it cost me it's a cute experiment.

Lamy makes excellent nibs and the good part is you can easily swap them with several different Lamy pen styles. So one Lamy pen can be fitted with four or five (+) different nib grinds.

Writes great! Very nice line variation for drawing. One of my new favorite nibs.

I purchased the Lamy steel nib in Fine to place on my Lamy Al-Star. It is such a smooth writer straight out of the box (bag?). Love that the nibs can be changed!

Wider than a broad nib, this suits my style. It is a good nib if you want a clean broad line
