Sailor Jentle Bottled Ink(50ml) Fountain Pen Ink Reviews

I have Tokiwa-Matsu and Yama-Dori. Tokiwa-Matsu is a nice evergreen color, that occasionally sheens red. Yama-Dori is a nice teal that often sheens red. Both inks smell pretty unsavory, but they behave really well on most papers. I’ve had no issues cleaning them out. The bottle is pretty poor, though. Anything that’s not a cartridge/converter pen is going to struggle.

I love this ink! It is dark green when wet, but dries brown. Weird! But even weirder? If you try to clean it off with water, the green/brown washes away leaving a very permanent powder blue! Crazy! You'll ask yourself if this isn't a Noodlers ink - but you will know it is Sailor because of the strong leather smell, and the great performance: good flow and no feathering or bleeding. For me this is a must have ink. I did mark it down for Sailor's ridiculous shallow bottle. Even when completely full you can't fill a pen with a #6 nib or larger.

What can really be said about Sailor Jentle that hasn't already been said. It's a staple in my rotation, Performs well in all of my nibs, flow is excellent and the color and shading is great. This is one of the inks I go back to often in my journaling and letter writing. Great ink at a good price.

This is a great ink. The green is really earthy. It looks fantastic. It shades really well, and it even shows a little bit of sheen once in a while when it pools up. The bottle is really shallow, but it comes with an insert that allows you to get enough ink despite the shape of the container.

Never thought I'd say something like this, but I love this ink. The flow and feel of it in my fine-point Sailor 1911 Large is just great--smooth and consistent. And the color is not a common black, or ordinary blue, but an interesting combo of blue and black with maybe a hint of dark green. It's like a deep ocean color--just the thing for a Sailor. (You gotta admit that's clever.)

Great Shading. I love this ink. Well Behaved. The only problem is the bottle shape. It is hard to get fill a pen once the ink level goes down a little.

Lovely ink with interesting teal colour. Needs to be well-lit to really shine as tends to look a little like dark green in dim light.
