This ink is incredible! It's not only archival and bulletproof (seems similar in appearance to standard bulletproof Black and not at all like Polar Black, which is flat and matte once dried) but it has extra lubrication so it works well in more finicky and dry pens. I've found that it's a perfect ink for EF or super-fine nibs where you can't get a lot of ink flow by design. I've currently got this in a Pilot Custom Heritage 91 with an EF nib and it's as smooth as melted butter on teflon-coated glass.
The only downside to this packaging is that you cannot really dip pens into the bottle and the eyedropper (meant for filling pens of that namesake) is not so useful for jamming into cartridges or converters. I use an empty bottle and decant it to half full then refill pens from that in the traditional manner.
This ink doesn't have a weird smell but comes with 2 pens that do: a narrow fountain pen (with an ultra-smooth nib that IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE .308 INK CARTRIDGE) and a replaceable-tip ballpoint pen (that also isn't cartridge compatible). These pens function really well with this ink and if you can get over the soapy smell of the vegetal resin that sticks to your hands, these pens and this ink are an excellent value.
I will definitely be stockpiling this ink.

Heart of darkness is the blackest ink I've seen & I've compared them to samples of the commonly most talked about black inks. Can't recommend the free pen l stinky pen that comes with it, couldn't even give it away to my friends after they held and smelled it.

A terrific quick-drying, non-bleeding permanent ink. Per Noodler's creator Nathan Tardiff, this ink is based on Noodler's Heart of Darkness, a very popular black fountain pen ink. But since it's designed for rollerballs, it has extra lubrication to help the rollerball nibs last longer. For extra value, you get a Charlie pen with rollerball nibs. And it also included a Charlie fountain pen. So you get this enormous bottle of ink and two great little pens. Good deal.

This is a great color. It was also an extra bonus that the free Charlie pen came with it! Watch out though because that pen burps!

Heart of Darkness - Really great true black ink, seems to work well on the wide range of paper I've tried it on (cheap legal pads and copy paper to nicer FP friendly notebooks). Dries quickly and well behaved, I can't ask for more than that. Washed the Charlie pen before using, and it worked exceptionally well right away, filled twice, used almost all the way down, and no issues. I'd have been happy if I'd paid for it; it is unbelievably nice for a free item.

This is a unique product at an incredible value. I prefer eyedropper style pens to all others. Simple and efficient, not to mention the best for getting all the ink out of your jar. I bought two and the included "Charlie" (named for Charlie Hebdo) pens wrote well straight out of the box with no adjustment. The pen's cellulose butyrate acetate type smell (much like some older screwdriver handles) isn't all that bad. One will only notice it if one actually smells the pen up close, and once one breaks themselves of that habit, it's no longer an issue.

What remains to be said about this ink? A superb water-resistant black that has not given me a lick of trouble in various pen brands and nib sizes. And this enormous 4.5oz bottle is as good an ink value as you can find. (at least, without getting into those giant Pilot ink bottles that Pen Shallot does not sell!)

A good black ink. Great for everyday use. The ink takes about 30 seconds to fully dry. I don't find the eyedropper useful since I use a syringe to fill my converter.
