Works well in vintage 1970's and 1980's pens. The one that will take converters. It's like having a new pen.

I am very fond of Platinum products and find their quality always acceptable and fit well. I have chosen to use converters predominately as I like to use bottled ink. One has a broader choice of colors that way. I do try and use quality inks though if not matching up with the same company.

Fits the Preppy Platinum just fine; draws ink well, doesn't leak, holds enough for about two hours of constant writing. This converter costs more than the pen, but the two together are less than $10 and the combo beats out plenty of pens costing hundreds of dollars more (example: The Pelikan M800). If you buy the Preppy, get this converter and load your favorite bottle ink. You won't be sorry.

You do not have much choice if you want to use bottled ink with a Platinum fountain pen being it use proprietary cartridges and converter. I will say it is a very good converter and a fair price. No complaints
