Pilot CON-40 Fountain Pen Converters Reviews
Not a great fan about the CON-40. Doesn't draw sufficiently enough ink in the converter. So I end up priming the pen then removing the converter to fill it by sharing.

This converter is a pain to clean, and doesn’t hold a ton of ink. Otherwise, it works incredibly well, keeping the ink from sticking to the back of the converter.

Works great in the Pilot Metropolitan pens. The agitator balls work well for shimmering inks.

No complaints. Wish it had a little more ink capacity.
I went through a lot of issues trying to get the shipment outside the US and Ron was there all the while sorting out the problems and I'm grateful for his support (in spite of my many emails and calls to him with loads of probably impertinent questions and difficulties I was having).
Certainly recommend the product.
Definitely recommend PenChalet.com for all related purchases

It works, but not as well as the con-50 converter. With the con-50, all I would need to do is twist the piston down and up twice to achieve a complete fill. With the con-40, it doesn't matter how many times I work the piston, it won't get a complete fill. To anyone else in the same situation, I recommend just doing one fill. Then flip the converter(and anything it's attached to) so that the opening (or nib of the pen) is facing more upward(around 55 degrees above horizontal). Get the ink to fall to the now lower part of the converter, and then twist the mechanism to expel the excess air(recommend doing this over the bottle of ink to prevent spills). Finally, do a second fill like normal. This has worked for me, so I hope this helps.
