I prefer Lamy's AL-Star over the Safari because I find the AL-Star's section to be easier to grip. The fact that the nibs can be switched out easily is also a bonus.

Good pen. You either like the triangle grip, or you don't. The color (for the AL Star Purple) was stunning. Nothing against the pen, but I didn't use it much, but I gave it as a gift since it's so pretty.

The purple Al-Star is a great Bordeaux color and the picture represents it well. I love the medium nib on this pen and the ease of replacing the nib. The Lamy's always seem like a good workhorse or purse pen, but I have a hard time justifying the price, especially without an included converter.

The Al STar is a bit thicker than the Safari. The grip is as well. I love this pen and it really looks nice, something really worth showing in public when having to sign things.

Very stylish to have and it feels very nice to write with. I did expect my order for the extra fine one to be a bit more extra fine but i am new at using fountain pens. I mainly bought this because my friend told me about this site and over time i do plan on getting a more stylish one.
Back to the pen I got it in silver and it writes really well, a little thick but good enough. Would recommend.
