A wonderful fountain pen. The nib is fine and the ink flows really well. I will be back for another. I have more than enough fountain pens! One can never have enough from Pen Chalet!

It's an okay pen. The Body is nice, the section is comfortable, and it's attractive.

But the clip is a flimsy glued on plastic thing that I'm afraid to use, and the nib arrived misaligned and scratchy. I managed to manhandle it back into place somewhat, but it still doesn't write properly.

I'll probably take it to a nib meister at some point to have it fixed since it's otherwise a good pen which is can make use of the CON-70.

If I could go back in time, I'd stop myself from buying this. It's a bad pen. If I didn't have so much going on in my life, I'd have sent it back.

J'adore cette gamme de stylos-plume Explorer (j'en possède trois). Le design est très joli et le plaisir d'écrire est bien réel.

The Explorer is a perfectly cromulent pen. It does exactly what it's supposed to. But it's the first Pilot product I've bought that feels a little... cheap? That sounds harsh, I think. But it's what I thought when I started writing with it. The plastic of the pen doesn't seem quite as nice as some of the other relatively inexpensive Pilots I own. I own quite a few Kakunos, a Metro, and a Prera. This is the first Pilot where I thought it might could have been a bit better.

But the color was what I wanted, and honestly, it writes fine. So far, at least.

I like this pen alot. The medium nib is very smooth with a pleasant feel. Light plastic pen that works great. The cap closes with a soft snug click. Nice size pen comfortable in hand. I will buy another with a medium nib. Great pen for the money!!

Was looking forward to this pen - it looks great on the website. I can't say how well it writes because I will not be loading it with ink - the pen in the hand looks and feels cheap. It is very light weight. I had actually purchased it as a 'keep in the closet until I need it' gift. I would not give this pen as a gift.. so! Guess I will be returning it... Really disappointed.
Posted functionality as average...but never actually wrote with it!

Love this pen. Writes smoothly, glides across the paper. Acts like the kakuno which I also love but feels better in my hand.

Surprisingly light weight pen with a med grip section. Feels great and very easy to write with. As will all Pilot nibs I've ever had, writes flawlessly, even after sitting on my desk unused for a week. Snap cap is a positive "click". The finish looks like anodized aluminum, but it's just a light plastic. By looking inside the cap you'll notice the plastic used is actually white & the finish is sprayed on. After 2 months of repeated posting of the cap, no affects to the finish. Holding up great. Tough little pen. Great alternative to the all metal Pilot Metro. The "F" nib will write for ever & ever & ever.

Just received my Explorer (medium nib; blue) and I’m quite impressed. I’ve only tested it with a black cartridge, but it wrote smooth, straight out of the box. I like the design better than the Metropolitan. It obviously doesn’t write as smoothly as a Vanishing Point medium, but I’m impressed. The only issue for some people is that the pen is very light. Going from the typical 17 g of a Lamy Safari to the 11 or 12 g of this pen may be too light for some. However, it’s definitely a good writing experience for the price.
