About Brown Wooden Fine Pilot Iro-Utsushi
The Pilot Iro-Utsushi dip pens give you the benefits of a fountain pen nib and the convenience of the dip pen - in one lovely, and easy to use writing tool! Unlike the traditional dip pen, the Pilot Iro-Utsushi dip pen has a rounded nib (similar to those typically found on fountain pens) that creates a smoother writing experience compared to the harsher tips on most dip pens on the market.
How to Use the Pilot Iro-Utsushi Dip Pen:
1. Prepare the nib by dipping the nib in water and wiping it clean.
2. Submerge the nib in ink up to the wavy line engraved on the nib.
3. When you want to use the dip pen with a different ink color, rinse the nib with water, wipe it completely dry, and dip it in the new ink.
Note: The Pilot Iro-Utsushi dip pen nib is stainless steel and does not rust. The nib is not removable or replaceable.

This thing is great. I use it for the “written” info when swatching inks. I keep a small cup of water on my desk and a paper towel. I can swatch a great many inks rapidly now because of this dip pen. Holds ink a SURPRISINGLY long time. Beautiful line. This was a good purchase. Thank you.

I use dip pens most often when swatching inks - a quick way to nab a bit of color and do a few lines of writing without fully inking a pen. I have a preference for Japanese pens and nibs, enjoying the smooth action and finer lines, so I decided to try these. I have the clear in M and the black wood in F. They are the tiniest bit wide around the grip but my hands are small. Otherwise they are remarkable writers, very enjoyable to use, easy to clean, and high quality. The wood one is especially pleasing to the eye.

Finally- a dip pen that won't break and that we can use to sample inks! And at a very reasonable price - barely more than most of the coffee drinks these days.
We love this pen! No more broken glass tips and the tip holds a fair amount of ink. The flow of ink off the nib is smooth and easy to control. I got the fine nib and it is just perfect for what I needed. A nice plastic sleeve protects the steel nib when not in use. The nib fits nicely into the small chargers that FWP uses or the lovely little 5 mL comet-shaped bottles that Colorverse inks come in, so no more trying to just barely get that tip in. Unlike a lot of the dip pens, this pen is more the size of a typical fountain pen so there's not a lot of extra barrel to worry about catching on things.
So handy and versatile. Get one - you won't be sorry.

I have used a glass dip pen to sample test my inks & was never satisfied with the results, it was never turned out like I wanted. This dip pen makes it so much better. Worked perfectly.
