I hadn't purchsed any pens in a while, but the Pelikan Cherry Blossom Hanami Special Edition M200 just leapt out of the page and figuratively into my hand. It came in no time although it was a special order. The nib is probably the smoothest one I have out of all my pens. I love the ink view window and translucence of the body of the pen. It's worth waiting for (although it really wasn't an unreasonable wait).

This pen is MUCH more interesting to look at in person than it looks in the pictures. The shiny bits in the material show to great effect under a good light. I love it.

I think this is a highly underrated pen. The styling is simple, but distinctive enough to draw attention. This pen is proof that a maker of high end writing instruments is more than capable of producing a quality lower cost pen well suited to the Beginner/Student market. The pen writes very well, and the cap gives that satisfying click when capping that lets you know the pen is sealed against drying out.

Pelikan is one of my favorite pen manufacturers, this pen just justifies my opinion. I enjoy both the M600 and M800 series but lean towards the latter by an iota. This Special Edition M815 metal is slightly heavier in the hand but not terribly so. Pelikan nibs are always fun to write with, and this is no exception; the fine nib I choose is smooth and fairly wet, a delight.i waited a long while for this pen through no fault of Pen Chalet, when they received it from the distributor it was shipped out right away.

A good blue ink, good color and quick drying. I had heard this was a dry ink and it is, which is more to my taste for sure. But it still flows well and puts down on the page well.

It's excellent for what I needed. The fountain pen feels light in my hand with good balance. It writes smoothly and I don't need to press very hard, which means my hand & wrist don't feel fatigued after writing. And, I like how it looks!

I have been using Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue for years as a known quantity when it comes to ink. If the pen won't act right when it's filled with Royal Blue, it isn't right. The Brilliant Black is every bit as consistent and dependable as the Royal Blue is, and it has taken its place as another known quantity.

My previous favorite "entry level" pens were Lamy Safari and the Pilot Metropolitan. Those are great pens. This is another worthy best entry level pen. The quality for the price is excellent. The writing experience is excellent.

I absolutely love this pen! Make no mistake, it is small. That’s makes it perfect for my pocket though. The cap has a quick twist off so it’s perfect for fast notes. I will say though that the piston has play in it. I’ve had cheaper pens that seem to have tighter tolerances. It does not affect functionality however.

When I saw this pen I knew I had to add it to my collection. Hefty price but I went for it. It's remarkably lightweight, easy to fill via piston and is inked everytime I use it, unless I've left it closed for weeks. Then it needs a little rinsing of the nib. Writes smoothly (I was expecting a scratchy nib). I would recommend this pen for all of you dedicated collectors.
