About the Parker Brand
Parker pen company has always been an innovative company beginning when George Parker created the Lucky Curve fountain pen. The company has continued to carry this spirit and vision throughout the more than 125 years they have been making writing instruments. With his first pen, patented in 1889, George Safford Parker created a system that returned ink into the reservoir using capillary action and reduced ink leakage.Over the years the Parker pen company has continued to create innovative writing instruments. In 1939 the Parker 51 fountain pen marked a major achievement with it's hooded nib and a fast drying ink. Considered to be the best pen of the century.
Parker pens come with a 2 year warranty. Warranty information is included with each Parker pen. For details on a specific Parker pen fee free to ask.
Parker Pens — Brand FAQs
Who is Parker and what are they known for?
Parker is a heritage writing brand recognized for classic designs—from everyday Jotter ballpoints to premium Sonnet and Duofold fountain pens—combining reliable performance with professional styling.
What are Parker’s most popular pen lines?
Jotter (iconic click ballpoint), IM (value modern), Urban (curved profile), Sonnet (premium classic), and Duofold (flagship).
Which fountain pen nib sizes are available and what are they made of?
Common sizes include Fine and Medium (some models add EF/Broad). Nib materials vary by line—steel on entry/mid lines and gold on select premium models like Duofold.
Do Parker fountain pens use standard cartridges or proprietary ones?
Parker-proprietary cartridges are typical. Many models also accept a Parker converter, so you can fill from bottled inks. Check your specific pen for what’s included.
Which refill fits Parker ballpoints like the Jotter?
Parker ballpoints use the Parker-style “G2” refill format (often branded Quinkflow). Many models also accept Parker-branded gel refills in the same format.
What refills do Parker rollerball pens use?
Use Parker rollerball refills designed for your model. Tip sizes and colors vary by listing; always match the refill type specified for the pen.
What is the writing feel of Parker pens and who are they for?
Parker emphasizes smooth, controlled lines on ordinary paper. Ballpoints and rollerballs excel for office notes; Sonnet and Duofold fountain pens suit journaling and signature work.
Do Parker pens post and how is the balance?
Most fountain and rollerball models can be used posted or unposted; balance depends on model and hand size. Try both to see what feels best for longer sessions.
What materials and finishes does Parker offer?
Polished and brushed metals, high-quality lacquers, classic black with gold/silver trims, and special patterns on premium lines like Sonnet and Duofold.
How do I maintain a Parker fountain pen versus rollerball/ballpoint?
Fountain: Flush nib/section with cool water every few weeks or when changing inks. Rollerball/Ballpoint: Replace refills as needed and keep capped or retracted to prevent drying or marks.
Which inks work best in Parker fountain pens?
Most dye-based fountain pen inks perform well. If you use highly saturated or shimmering inks, clean more often to keep the feed clear—especially in fine nibs.
Are Parker pens good gifts, and how do I ensure authenticity?
Yes—many ship in presentation boxes and support engraving (finish-dependent). Buy from authorized retailers and keep your receipt to ensure authenticity and warranty support.
What warranty do Parker pens include and how do I get service?
Parker provides a manufacturer's warranty against defects (terms vary by model/region). Contact your retailer or an authorized service center for repairs, nib work, or parts.
Any travel tips for Parker pens to prevent leaks or dry-out?
Fountain: Fly with the pen full or empty and store nib-up; open slowly after landing. Rollerball/Ballpoint: Keep capped/retracted; avoid extreme heat or cold.
Which Parker should I choose as my first pen?
Pocket-friendly daily: Jotter ballpoint. Modern everyday: IM or Urban (ballpoint/rollerball or fountain). Premium classic: Sonnet fountain pen with Fine or Medium nib. Flagship: Duofold for heritage and presence.

A neat and durable writing instrument. But hey, it is a Parker man! I have had several of this style of Parker, and I'm telling you the body of the IM Special Edition is breath taking! Super unique piece. "Great Writer"!

Very nice old model from Parker. Nice writer straight out of box. Happy to buy it. Only hard to post the cap. If like hooded nib this one is good choice for you. Nice service from pen chalet.

I like this ink, but outside of the box it came in, I couldn't find anything that says it's Blue/Black. It looks more black on my test sample I made, but hey, I don't care, I like this ink :-) . It flows really well in one of my older Parker pens and better than most in my "Newer" Parker Sonnet ~ Resin fountain pen. Seems to be a wetter ink, and if if keeps the pens writing after they've been sitting awhile, I'm all for that. Good price too, excellent value. I even like the bottle :-)

Great workhorse ink as long as your paper is fountain pen friendly. I liked using it in a Platinum Preppy in eyedropper mode. That ink lasted me for years inside that pen without issues.

This is a beautiful pen. Unfortunately, my father still can't see what he's writing due to his macular degeneration.

This is a great pen! The steel nib writes very smoothly. The pen is quite comfortable to hold, and feels good posted. The midnight blue is a lovely colour.

Parker Quink is my "go to" ink. I've had fountain pens that wouldn't write with any other ink. New inks may be trendy and colorful, but Quink is always reliable. If you have a fountain pen that skips or dries out regularly, don't throw it out before trying Parker Quink.

I bought this for my 1970s/1980s Dupont Gatsby pen after reading it would fit that pen. It does. Just as good and much more affordable than the converter Dupont distributor sells.

I have found that this ink flows very well. Other inks have taken time to flow from the nib, which is frustrating. I purchased this for my Parker and I'm glad I did.

I am really pleased with this purchase. I ordered it in the off-chance that it would replace the outworn ink converter in the Parker fountain pen that I had received as a gift in 1970 - exactly 50 years ago! And, yes, it fits perfectly! This speaks to the quality and consistency of Parker pens through two generations.

I was intrigued by the Midnight Astral version with the cool star patterns. I've had another IM for some time and it's a good writer so I was comfortable ordering this one, especially with the discount. It is very nicely made and attractive, and I was surprised at how smooth writing the medium steel nib is. I ordered a Parker converter for it and the flow is perfect. The only small negative I have is that the snap cap takes some effort to remove, but it has a satisfying "snick" when capped. I am quite pleased with mine and would have no qualms recommending it.

This is a very reliable, safe ink at a good price. Used in my Waterman Expert (medium nib), it looks a little gray (I seem to have a very light touch with the Waterman). But with my flex nib pen, it is a dark, true black. It is extremely water-soluble,so if you need something that can stand up to moisture, this is not it. However, this has been one of my go-to inks for everyday writing for years and easily washes off hands, most clothes, and most surfaces.

I own many of these Parker products some bought in my travels 6 times to Russia where they are hard to find and very expensive most have been simply put away in my collection Th IM has been put into my day to day use file. Smooth and easy wrighting (Canadian EH) The only slight negative is it is a bit wet so must not use it too slowly or it will soak out into the paper and drain the fill overly soon..
