This is an amazing pen for the price! The nib is very smooth (medium) and it does write a bit on the wet side, currently using Faber Castell moss green quik drying ink and am loving it!
I must confess I did buy the pen because of the cool colour, which does look better in person than on the web.

I had been lusting after this emerald pen for a while so I bit the bullet and ordered it, it looks even better in real, stunning and it writes just as well, very smooth. It was so good that my daughter fell in love with it and I ended up giving it to her. But I still wanted one so I bought a second one, just for myself.

I bought the green, don't let the color fool you it's not shiny or tacky but an elegant dark green, it's not heavy even with the cap, the cap does not post deep but it is very solid, it won't fall off, I like to write posted and it's not back heavy to me, the grip section is not slippery and it is wide, the nib is big and it's smooth, it writes almost like a broad even though it's a medium but it doesn't gush out ink so you don't have to worry about any ink flow problems, it also looks professional so you can take it work without looking like some tacky punk.

All of the Waterford Kilbarry pens (both Edge and Guilloche) are beautiful instruments. Since they are metal, they have some weight to them but are well balanced. I have been very pleased so far, though I've had none of them long enough to know how well they will last. My impression at this point is that they will wear well and that Waterford has produced a very nice fine writing instrument for a very reasonable price.

The Kilbarry Guilloche pens are very attractive. They have some weight to them and are a comfortable fit, at least to my hand. The response to my order of the Black version was quick and the package arrived in a very short time. Note that this line appears to come only with medium nib.
