This is a vanishing point fountain pen. It's a click action. You simply press the button at the end and the nib extends. It's a capless pen, so there's no cap to remove, just the nib comes out a little hole there in the front of the pen. You can see that slide in and out as I press the button.
A little different, the clip is on the writing end of the pen. You can see the "Decimo" engraved on that chrome clip. It has a double chrome band here at the center of the pen. One of those bands is a little thicker than the other, "Pilot Japan" engraved on the back side. And a chrome ring at the top with that chrome push button.
This is a cartridge converter style pen. To change the ink, you unscrew the cap from the barrel of the pen, and included with the pen is an ink converter for using bottled inks. You can also use the Pilot IC50 or IC100 ink cartridges, and one of those is included. It's under the false bottom of the box.

Pilot Capless Decimo Reviews
Awesome pen. My EDC pen. Fine writes like a 0.2 pen I'd say. Perfect for everyday notes in calendar and notebooks. I refill the cartridge since the converter is a joke: one drop of ink. DeAtramentis Document ink works like a charm.

The Navy/Blue Decimo is an elegant and high-quality pen. I like the size more than the standard Capless/VP and the retractable functionality is really satisfying. The two downsides I'd call out, and these are minor, are the converter and the nib. The converter doesn't hold much ink and it's best filled with a syringe. And the Fine nib on mine had very tight tines that I needed to loosen up to get adequate ink flow. Beyond those small points, though, it's lovely.

I love my Pilot Decimo. This is my first really nice fountain pen, and it's worth the investment. It fits my hand perfectly, is beautiful to look at, and is a joy to write with. I appreciate the help I got from Pen Chalet customer service when I had some questions about which pen to buy. I didn't want to get a pen that was too big for my hand, and Lainey helped me make the perfect choice. I highly recommend this pen and Pen Chalet.

Decimos are my ride or die, my babies, my most loved and most used pens. I have tried the VP but no the Decimo is my true love. Over the last 2 years, I have tried most of the popular fountain pens from but this is hands down the best pen. I own all the current US colors so I’m just waiting for more color releases at this point.
I will say, I am a fan of the extra fine, fine mainly. The medium is too broad for a medium for me. The stub is also lovely.
Also I wish pilot would create better converters. It writes and works without a issue but filling pilot converters is a PAIN.

I bought this as an experiment because I wanted a retractable pen and the Pilot capless pens (both Decimo and Vanishing Point) receive such good reviews. I have to admit that I didn’t like the appearance which is what kept me from ordering one for so long. I’m so glad I did! This is a highly versatile pen — easy to use, and featuring interchangeable nib units so that you can have any nib width you want from fine to stub (yes, I now have them all!). Between the Decimo (slimmer version) and the Vanishing Point, there are a wide range of colors and finishes to choose from, including the beautiful make-e/raden finishes on the Vanishing Point. I now have two VPs and one Decimo and have saving my pennies to order the raden version.

Pilot Capless Decimo is slimmer, lighter version of Capless line of Pilot. It has as great NIB as all the other Capless, as they are compatible to each other. Slim line is elegant combining with metalish colors. It's unique model in any office room grab the attention of the colleauges...

Awesome EDC pen, but the converter is useless. It only holds approx. two drops of ink.

This pen is beautiful! It was pretty simple to install the ink cartridge using the directions in the box. It writes very nicely and the point is the ideal size for me. It's really a joy to use and I find myself making every excuse to use it. The color of the pen is a nice lavender shade. I love it! I also like how it comes with an ink converter so you can skip buying a bunch of plastic cartridges and throwing them away, which is more eco-friendly.
