The Opus 88 Koloro fountain pen comes with a perfect balance of ebonite and acrylic. The transparent barrel allows the ink level to be view-able at all times. Designed specifically as an eye dropper with a control knob and center bar inside the barrel to help control ink flow, this type of eye dropper system is only typically found among high-end pens.
The Opus 88 fountain pen has been fitted with a JOWO stainless steel nib for a great writing experience. Each pen comes with a small bulb eye dropper to fill the pen with 2ml of ink. Select the color combination that is right for you.

The other parts of the pen are made of ebonite, the tan parts of the pen, as happened to be the blue and tan version of the pen. The pen of course comes in different colors as well kind of accents that the pen make really nice. It is a lightweight pen with that looks really good.
The trim on the pens are a chrome color. There is a chrome ring with a chrome clip and a small chrome ring at the bottom of the pen. Also, at the bottom of the cap of the pen, "Opus 88" is engraved into the cap. That cap unscrews and is threaded. It can be posted on the end of the pen. It is a good-sized pen. It also has a matching resin section on the pen and comes with a stainless steel nib with Opus 88 engraved on it and feed on the backside.
To change the ink on the pen you would unscrew the section of the pen and then you can fill it with the eyedropper. This pen is specifically made as an eyedropper pen, so has a high-end eyedropper system. You can release the back-end of the pen and that allows air to flow through. It also has a small piston or shaft that allows you to burp the pen if you need to, but I've been writing with it for a while, I haven't had any issues at all with it. Great pen, beautiful design. This is the Opus 88 Koloro Fountain Pen. It comes in a brown cardboard sleeve, the Opus 88 logos embossed in gold on the top. That sleeve slides off and there is a black cardboard box for the pen. Once again the Opus 88 logo in white, since 1977 in the bottom corner. Hinge style lid that has a magnetic catch. Inside is information about Opus 88 and the Koloro pen. And since it is an eyedropper pen, there is an eyedropper that is included with the pen. The bulb syringe slides out to expose the glass portion. It is a glass eyedropper that allows you to fill the pen and of course, we have the Opus 88 Koloro Fountain Pen. It is made of resin on the transparent sections, this particular pen is actually filled with ink and you can see the ink level on the inside. I bought this pen because it was on sale. I was/am in the stage of exploring different brands and styles of pens to see what I like. This pen is light, which is a big plus for me. It has a larger diameter grip than many of my other pens, which I also like. The quality is very good for the price point.
The nib has a slight bouncy feel, which I enjoy. I got the fine nib and it writes with a narrow, clean line.

I bought this pen in Fine and it puts all my other more expensive pens to shame. It writes similar to a Platinum 3776 for less than half the price. The line is thin but saturated. Amazing. Plus, the drop filler is kind of fun! And the glitter is gorgeous too. Overall 10/10 pen.

Opus 88 red-red is now my favorite Opus 88. It supersedes my expectations. I am used to wide girth fountain pens, #6 nibs, and extra-fine point nibs. I was a bit worried about my latest acquisition. It arrived quickly. My belated Fountainpen Day present to myself. I love the red-red color and since I only use red inks, the slight demonstrator look is fluid. Glad I researched reviews of this fountain pen before purchasing it. The reviews were right! Really glad that I did so at penchalet.com. Has not failed me yet.

This is a very fine fountain pen for everyday use. It is an eyedropper filler which means that writers who have used cartridges or converters will have to get used to this method of refilling and how to use the pen's mechanism to start/control ink flow. But, having learned that, people should enjoy the pen's handling, grip, and overall feel. I am a fan of broad point nibs and this one does not disappoint. The nib is firm and the flow is very smooth. I also bought a medium nib as an extra to try out.The finish and colors are very contemporary and pleasing. I would rate this fountain on on a par with TWSBI's best on quality of build and even higher on materials.

This is a nice eye dropper pen. Has a traditional pen style with Ebonite & resin material but holds a good amount of ink. Writes well, but i use it more for drawing do to it's large ink capacity. Dig all my Opus 88's.
