About the Nemosine Fission

The Nemosine Fission Fountain Pens have a metal cap and barrel with a stainless steel nib. Choose from either extra fine, fine, medium or broad nib sizes with this cartridge converter style fountain pen.

Like all Nemosine fountain pens, each has a physics equation and the Fission is marked with the famous Einstein equation to determine nuclear binding energy:

E = mc^2

E = binding energy, ?m = mass defect, c = the speed of light

Nuclear fission is the process of splitting a nucleus into smaller particles to create energy through a nuclear reaction or radioactive decay.

Give this inexpensive fountain pen a try. We have a feeling you will not be disappointed in the quality and the way the Nemosine Fission Fountain Pen writes.

Nemosine Fission Video Script

This is the Nemosine Fission Fountain Pen. It comes in a white cardboard box and Nemosine logo on the corner. And of course like all Nemosine pens, it has an equation on the box. Side of the box opens and it's a cartridge converter style pen so it comes with a handful of standard universal ink cartridges. And of course we have the Nemosine Fission fountain pen. This is an all metal pen. Well the cap and barrel are made of metal components, glossy finish on both the cap and barrel. This happens to be the navy blue color. Simple rounded top on the cap. It has a chrome colored ring that attaches the clip. There's an "N" for Nemosine on the on the top of the clip.

Has two bands at the center of the barrel of the pen. One band is on the barrel of the pen and one's on the bottom of the cap. And then it has some threads here at the bottom of the barrel of the pen for posting and a rounded end on the barrel of the pen. Cap is threaded and unscrews. To post the pen, you slide it on and then the cap actually screws on to the end of the barrel of the pen. Hefty pen, it feels pretty sturdy with the metal, has a metal section, glossy chrome color with the Nemosine "N" on the nib of the pen with some other etchings or engravings and the feed on the back side.

It is a cartridge/converter style pen so to change ink on the pen, you unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen. Included with the pen is one Nemosine ink converter for use of bottled inks. So if you want to use bottled inks it has a converter or the ink cartridges are also available. They both come with the pen. Pretty sturdy design, great price point. This brand is one of the most under rated and hidden gem in the fountain pen community. This pens write so smooth without feeling the paper. The only thing is I notice the inside threads scratched the end finial when I screw posted the pen. With fine sandpaper and micromesh, it's better now. The other thing is it's a dry writing pen. this pen as a starter pen along with their Neutrino model which is smaller and writes wetter
Highly recommended.

Like the Simgularity, the reason to buy this pen is for the nib. The pen itself has its problems: too short for me to use unposted, but screwing the metal cap onto the back unbalanced the pen and makes it unwieldy. The pens smaller sister, the Singularity, is simply too small for me and suffers from ink dryup within a few hours of capped nonuse. BUT, the nibs on these pens are spectacular. It’s worth it to buy one or more just to put the nib on a different pen you like better. I have a medium and a broad, and they have elevated two Monteverde pens to the nth degree.

All metal with cap that unscrew and screws on to post. Solid weight without being too heavy. 0.6 stub allows subtle line variation

These pens are far from perfect but fabulous for the price - I like them enough to own three of them. I am in love with the 0.6 stub nib - it's all I want to write with these days! You get a subtle variation in line that makes everyday writing "pop" without looking like a fussy calligraphy exercise. The nib has gently rounded shoulders and with use will become as smooth as a regular tipped nib.

The gunmetal color option is stunning - it looks like a pen far beyond its price point. If you appreciate the sturdiness and heft of a metal-barreled pen you won't be disappointed. Visually, the design is brilliant and the build is very solid. Ergonomics are average. I've found the ink feed to be fussy, but giving the converter knob a couple of turns to build some positive pressure gets things flowing without flooding. I've come to consider it a minor inconvenience for a pen with so much else going for it.

If you read this review and opt for the stub nib (I hope you do), be patient with it at first. The feed needs time to saturate and it will be scratchy at first. The untipped nib will remind you to hold the pen at a proper angle and will nudge you to pay more attention and be more deliberate. If you're like me you'll see your writing improve with any pen in hand, and the best part is feeling the nib smooth out over time as if to reward your effort. Once broken in, the fast muscle-memory strokes of signing my name come without the slightest hint of skipping or scratching. That's what I call a win.

This is an excellent pen! I love the weight of it, except if the cap in on the end while I'm writing. It's quite top heavy in my opinion, so I just set the cap down while I write. The ink flows very smoothly and I haven't had any skips yet. I purchased the medium sized nib option and if the paper isn't the best of quality the ink bleeds a lot and the writing turns out to be quite large (for my liking). I want to buy this exact pen again but in a smaller nib size so I can have both ready, depending on the paper. I definitely recommend it for those who like heavier pens!

This pen is a fantastic value. I still can't believe how good it is and I never expected it to be so great. I took a chance on it for the end of the month sale and it is easily now one of my favs. I may have to give one of their more expensive ones a try. I don't know how they could top this. It is beyond excellent but that's not an option here.

Fast shipping.

I love this pen. B nib is wet and juicy - similar to the JoWo B nib width. Write instantly and no adjustment needed. The pen has good weight. The screw on cap is good (does not like to screw at the end - posting and will become unbalance).

Overall, excellent value for money.

The surface is shinny and could be prone to scratching and I either carry it in my short pocket or in my home made leather pouch.

Free shipping is a plus (got 2 bottles of ink as well)

I had previously purchased another Nemosine pen and bought this one based on the quality of that pen.
This pen is all metal so it is not light. The Nemosine Fission is a very high quality pen. The thick red paint finish is beautiful. The pen comes with a converter and about 5 or 6 standard cartridges. The large N on the clip looks classy. I don't post my pens but if you want to there are threads on the back of the pen to screw the cap onto. The fine nib is German and performs wonderfully from the start.
This pen is certainly worth more than the price.

Excellent everyday-use fountain pen. I'm a fan of thick diameter and heavier weighted pens, and most pens at this price point do not have the either. Also, it is very dependable and well-designed.
