About Spring Nahvalur (Narwhal) Original
The Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Original fountain pen was first created in 2019 as the brand's primary design. Made in-house, the Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Original features a piston filling system for a larger ink capacity.
Each Nautilus fountain pen is fitted with a stainless steel, #6 size nib made in-house by Narwhal. Narwhal nib fans declare them to be particularly smooth and consistent immediately upon putting the pen to paper. Narwhal Nautilus Ebonite fountain pens are available in varying nib sizes (Narwhal nib tip widths tend to be a bit thicker than the standard).
*NOTE: In early 2023, Nahvalur introduced a new etched design on their in-house nibs to coordinate with their rebranding from Narwhal to Nahvalur. Throughout 2023, pens may be fitted with either nib, and may be packaged in either Narwhal or Nahvalur packaging. We do not get to specify which inventory we receive. Thank you!

This Narwhal is probably the best pen for the money. At $40, it's a downright bargain. Their Fine and Extra Fine nibs write well Operation is straight forward and the plunger works very well. Posts nicely.

I purchased the Demonstrater which is clear. I like that I can just look at the pen and see how much ink is in it. I like that it is easy to fill. Simple. It writes well enough. It is big enough to fit in my hand which is XXL size.

While I generally do not like demonstrator pens, this one is different due to the dark yellow swirls, the ink in the window adding another color, and the piston mechanism itself also filling another part of the demonstartor barrel.

Everything a pen should be. Inked it up with Platinum Silky Purple - the “Fine” nib writes beautifully. The fit and finish are flawless. I love the “Original”. (My fourth) Great quality at a very reasonable price!
