The Namiki Yukari Bush Clover fountain pen is a 2023 limited edition release (also referred to as Hagi, which translates to Autumn Grass or Bush Clover). Bush Clover is cherished as one of the seven flowers of autumn and is referenced in over one hundred poems in the oldest surviving book of Japanese poetry called “Man'yoshu,” which dates back to the late 7th century. The Namiki Yukari Bush Clover 2023 Limited Edition fountain pen features exceptional artwork designed by the highly revered Kokkokai group. It takes many months to expertly handcraft each Bush Clover pen. The release is limited to only 300 worldwide, with 69 available in the US.

The barrel's artwork is traditional maki-e urushi lacquer work finished with a sprinkling of gold dust using the togidashi polishing technique. The shimmering Bush Clover, illuminated by moonlight, is gracefully painted in silver Maki-e and red lacquer. A variety of maki-e techniques creates each of the leaves with the fuller, gold leaves created with a hira (flat) technique using silver-round-powders and polishing. The flowers are created with a red urushi lacquer. The accent fans featured use a burnished maki-e technique using grey lacquer and gold-flat-powders that accentuate the undergrowth around the Bush Clover. Since fans become wider at the edge, they have traditionally been regarded as a lucky pattern.

The Namiki Yukari Bush Clover fountain pen's traditional cigar-shaped body is topped with a #10 18-karat gold and rhodium plated nib accents with a beautiful depiction of the iconic Mount Fuji silhouette. Each Namiki Yukari Bush Clover fountain pen includes a full-size bottle of black fountain pen ink and a CON-70 converter for use with any fountain pen safe bottled ink. The Namiki Yukari Bush Clover fountain pen is a limited edition with the serial number engraved on the top of each pen's clip. Each limited edition Namiki fountain pen is packaged in an elegant, limited edition blue gift box with a gorgeous, silky lining.
