Inside is the black version of the pen. This is the black with the carbon fiber barrel and cap. It has a glossy finish and it has metal components on the ends. A nice glossy black cap. On the end of the barrel it has a black center band. Around the center band we have printed Monteverde USA. Then on the backside is Invincia Deluxe. It has a black metal cap and on the top of the cap is the Monteverde mountain logo with a black metal clip. The black clip has a nice large ball at the end of the clip makes it easy to get in now to pocket. Then the cap itself is black carbon fiber. It is a heavier pen because the metal components. It is a nice sturdy pen.
The cap unscrews. The nib section as a metallic or metal with the black matching nib. It has the Monteverde logo with a mountain engraved on the nib. This is a cartridge converter style style pen. To change the ink simply unscrew that nib section from the barrel. Included with this pen is one converter. There is also some additional ink cartridges included with the pen. Those ink cartridges are found under the false bottom the box. There is a black and a blue cartridge as well as the informational instructions about the pen.

I purchased the Rose Gold model and i absolutely love it! The nib has just a bit of feedback, but writes smoothly. I only have two complaints: First, if someone accidentally over torques the cap, the plastic insert has a tendency to work itself out of the cap. Personally, I like that they used a press fit instead of glue to prevent damage to the pen if this happens. Secondly, I'm not a big fan of the large step from the grip to the barrel. This is more of a mild annoyance, however. Overall, this pen is beautiful and exceeds in quality and performance.

Just a real nice pen. Write smoothly and no issue with it. But am I objective as Monteverde fan ? Try by yourself. Very pleased with it.

I was attracted to this pen by its sharp looks. The black carbon fiber look with the chrome accent looks great. Add the black nib to the mix and it’s a great looker.
There are two issues with this pen: the nib and the section.
Nib - it’s dry. For a stub nib I expected it to be much wetter. It hard starts and flows poorly.
The section - its chrome finish makes it slippery especially if you are a sweater.
A more significant issue with the section is its diameter - far to thin; uncomfortably thin. For a pen with a very good barrel diameter and weight, the section really fails this pen.

I purchased the all black Monteverde Invincia carbon fiber fountain pen. This pen has a glossy appearance even though the photo appears matte. It is nice and heavy and writes great. The carbon fiber appearance makes a great pen for a man.

A very beautiful pen but if you're not going to use it for a few minutes it's best to put the cap back on. I often pick it up and it had completely dried out. I need to dip in my ink bottle to re-wet the nib and then everything works again. This is not the case with my Lamy Studio, although compared to the Studio the Invicia Deluxe has a much cleaner line with the same medium nib. I prefer using this one when writing in my professional notebooks because of the quality of the line. It is also a very solid instrument so if you're not used to a heavier pen you'd probably prefer not to post the cap when writing a good deal.
It is also solidly made. Overall appearance and fit/finish are excellent. One of my employees thought it had a compression fitting (it doesn't) and pulled the cap apart with his enthusiasm. It fit snugly back together again such that you'd never tell anything happened. The cap screws back on with no problem but when unscrewing it you often loosen the body of the pen from the nib end and then have to retighten it. This is a bit irritating as you often have to put the cap back on (see above) so it takes some practice.
