About the LeBoeuf Thomas Jefferson Declaration of Independence
The LeBoeuf Thomas Jefferson Declaration of Independence Limited Edition fountain pen is an extraordinary tribute to the Father of the Constitution of the United States of America. Limited to 145 fountain pens, the collection is an elegant design honoring the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776) and the third President of the United States (1801-1809).
Thomas Jefferson was considered to be eloquent as a correspondent but not as a public speaker. In the Virginia House of Burgesses and the Continental Congress, he contributed his pen rather than his voice to the patriot cause. As the “silent member” of the Congress, Jefferson, was known for his writing skill and was chosen to draft the Declaration of Independence. Over the course of seventeen days, Jefferson wrote the draft in isolation with the help of a committee that included Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The second Continental Congress then spent two days making changes to the document, debating and revising it on July 2nd and 3rd. On July 4 th, 1776, Congress ratified and adopted the document. The formal document was signed by 56 members of Congress on August 2, 1776.
Each LeBoeuf Thomas Jefferson “Declaration of Independence” Limited Edition fountain pen features an exclusive acrylic barrel named Old Glory Red, White, and Blue Swirl that was specially created to represent America’s independence and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Each pen barrel was carefully turned and polished and features Thomas Jefferson’s famous signature engraved in Gold. A gold Declaration of Independence 1776 commutative coin is fitted on the top of each cap. Alternating White and Red Stars have been engraved onto each cap, paying homage to America's founding document and enhancing the elegance of this special limited edition fountain pen.
