The Laban Formosa fountain pen is fine brass with a silver-plated overlay covering the blue acrylic pen barrel. Each Laban Formosa fountain pen has a JOWO Iridium point stainless steel nib embossed with the Laban logo and a mountain and water image. The German-made nibs are silver-plated and are available in varying nib sizes. The Formosa fountain pen's torpedo-shaped silhouette is topped by a pen clip that comes to a sharp point at each end to show an elegant balance. The Laban logo is engraved on the cap band.

The Laban Formosa fountain pen uses a cartridge converter filling system compatible with standard international-size ink cartridges or converters.
