The pen has a plastic cap and barrel. It does have a metal clip with the Jinhao logo at the top, and a groove down the center of that clip. At the top of the cap is a black medallion, and at the end of the barrel, just a small hole. The Jinhao logo is engraved into the barrel of the pen. There's also a small ink viewing window on both sides, so you can see the level of the ink inside the pen as you're using it.
Snap-off cap, it posts easily on the pen. It has a matching ergonomic grip section with a small chrome band between the section and the barrel of the pen, and it has a stainless steel nib with Jinhao engraved on it, other etchings, as well, in the feed on the back side.
It's a cartridge converter style pen, so to change the ink on the pen, you unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen, and an ink converter is included with the pen for bottled inks. You can also use fountain pen cartridges if you'd rather use those, as well, but they're not included with the pen.
