About the Delta Paestum
The Delta Paestum Limited Edition fountain pen transforms the history, artistry, and symbolism of Magna Graecia into a remarkable writing instrument inspired by one of the Mediterranean’s most significant archaeological sites.
Named for ancient Poseidonia—later Roman Paestum—the collection draws from the architecture, artifacts, and imagery preserved at the Archaeological Park of Paestum. Delta crafts the pen from special resin, hand-turned from solid bar, blending shades of Mediterranean blue with warm beige tones inspired by the sea, sand, and stone surrounding Paestum.
Elaborate details tell the story of the ancient city throughout the design. A decorative band near the top of the cap depicts elements of the Temple of Neptune, while the band at the base of the cap incorporates imagery inspired by the frescoes of the celebrated Tomb of the Diver. The Diver—one of the most recognizable surviving images of ancient Greek painting—has come to symbolize passage, knowledge, and the mystery of existence. Olive branches inspired by those worn by the ancient Greeks appear along the barrel, which is also finely engraved with a traditional Greek key motif.
All metal components are finished with 24-karat gold plating, adding a rich contrast to the blue and beige resin and reinforcing the classical aesthetic of the design.
The Paestum project originated with Gianluca Vinciguerra, a longtime fine writing instrument retailer in Salerno, Italy. Together with his wife, Annarita, Vinciguerra envisioned the collection as a tribute to the history and cultural heritage of Paestum and the surrounding region.
Two separately numbered fountain pen editions are available, each limited to just 288 pieces worldwide: one fitted with a 14-karat solid gold nib and one fitted with a gold-plated steel nib. Depending on the selected version, nib options include Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub 1.1, Flex Extra Fine, and Flex Fine.
The Delta Paestum fountain pen uses a dual cartridge/converter filling system, making it easy to enjoy with either standard ink cartridges or bottled fountain pen ink.
Rich in symbolism and exceptionally detailed, the Delta Paestum Limited Edition fountain pen makes every written line part of a much longer story—one connecting the present to thousands of years of art, culture, and history.
