The Conklin Endura Deco Crest fountain pen is the ideal revival of the exciting Deco era, a design era that started in the 1920's. The Deco era had a big influence on modern art from architecture to fashion, and that influence left its mark on the pen industry as well.
The Conklin Endura Deco Crest collection is available in three gorgeous colors (blue, black, and orange) with three finishes (rose gold, chrome, and gunmetal). The pens are made of hand-made European high-grade resin that is hand-turned and hand-polished. The pens are accented with a beautiful metal overlay with the barrel brilliantly reflecting light off of the surface to enhance the stunning colors. The lustrous plating adorning the clip, band, trim, and overlay enhance the elegance the Conklin Endura Deco Crest fountain pen.
Each Conklin Endura Deco Crest fountain pen is fitted with a premium JoWo stainless steel nib personalized with the Conklin name, the historic “Toledo, USA” mark, and a special crescent-shaped breathing hole. The stainless steel nib with iridium tip is both smooth and dependable, available in varying nib sizes.
Nib Color:
Orange/Gunmetal is fitted with a black-plated stainless steel nib for all nib sizes (EF, F, M, B, Stub, or Flex).
Blue/Rosegold is fitted with a black-plated stainless steel nib for nib sizes EF, F, M, B, or Stub, OR a gold-plated nib for Flex.

This is a very pretty pen!it writes fairly well, it's got a smooth nib and writes nicely, we're very satisfied with how well the cap screws onto the end, and it has a nice, solid weight to it in the hand that makes it very pleasant to write with.
There are, we will note, some irregularities with the body - when fully closed, the threads on the cap are aligned in such a way that the patterns on the cap do not align with the patterns on the body unless you sort of awkwardly half-unscrew it, and we noticed a point on the cap where the metal coating of the body was mis-cut, leaving a subtly misshapen window and small metal inconsistency poking out that you can see and feel once you know it's there. Still, we're willing to forgive the slight manufacturing failure on the grounds that it is purely aesthetic, and we got this pen on significant discount.

I am very pleasantly surprised with this pen. I bought it on a whim when it was on sale and most of my pens are much more fancy and expensive but I love orange and I liked the style with the metal and orange. I didn't expect much from this pen other than having a cool design but when I tested it, I was very impressed with how well it wrote. And the design is just awesome looking. I got the stub nib and it writes super smooth with no skipping or hard starts. This pen punches well above it's weight. I highly recommend this one. I have $500+ Namiki pens that don't write this well.

This is one of my favorite pens. It's nice and heavy but also very balanced (posted or otherwise), it writes smoothly, and of course it's gorgeous. It is a little hard starting occasionally, especially if I let it idle for any length of time, but once it starts it's reliable.

I bought the orange and gunmetal Endura Deco Crest from Conklin with omniflex nib. I got this because it was so beautiful and I couldn’t pass up the Fountain pen Day deals. The pen is partially metal, but not too heavy, nothing is sharp to the touch, and it looks very elegant. The converter is screw-in, and I think this ensures a better fit. The Omni flex nib is similar to what I’ve noticed before: it is semi-flex, but not dramatically so. The pen does struggle with some hard starting, but this is easily dealt with by dipping in water or expressing. The detail that I wasn’t expecting was that the pen end has threads so that the cap can be screwed on for secure posting. It’s a bit long when posted, although I find it just fine, some others might find it unwieldy. The orange parts are translucent, so the pen has a nice orange glow when light passes through it, very much like a Tiffany lamp or stained glass in appearance. I’m glad to have gotten it on sale.

I wanted this pen the moment I first saw it and I treated myself when it was practical to do so. This has become my new favorite pen.
I chose the orange/gunmetal option and it has to be the most striking pen I own. I love the look, but just as much I love the weight. This pen has some real heft and it is definitely heavier than most of my other pens.
It took a couple of days of working with it before it started writing well. In the first couple of days it was slow to start and it would stop writing if I paused for even as little as ten seconds. It seems to be very reliable now and I have not had a problem with it since.
The nib is very smooth and not even a little scratchy.
Overall, great pen.

A very spectacular, attention-grabbing style and design. The fit and finish and attention to detail are top notch. I chose the blue/gold because of the striking blue and it does not disappoint. It is not a 'shy' pen, so if you want the high 'flash' of this, go with one of the others. It takes a bit to get in started, but then the writing seems OK. I got the Omniflex and it does take a little time to get used to, since this is my first. I did not clean the nib before inking, and this is something that is necessary to do. It seems to write with maybe a medium line, and you can make it wider if you add pressure.
