Gorgeous shimmery green. Works best with a dip pen, but I did use it a bit in a LAMY Safari fountain pen with a F nib without incident. The beauty of the ink really came to life.

I had a bit of ink set aside in a small tube and sealed with plastic wrap after I'd poured out a little too much. It kept really well at first, but then I used some of it (to write a few cards, so I only needed a little), which decreased the adhesion of the wrap. When I went to refill it, there was serious evaporation that had transpired.
Van Dieman's Ink Diluter & Rehydrator did the trick in reviving it. I didn't know how much to use at first, but I tinkered around with it and found the right ratio. No worries, either -- it was a very forgiving process, and it was super intuitive. I was also able to play around with the viscosity of the rehydrated ink before setting it back to its original state, which yielded fun results.
I can't speak to its value with a lot of certainty just because I suspect that some people would be able to find ways to rehydrate their inks with a thrifty homemade solution, but I'm not confident enough to do that (yet). For that reason, I'll give the Product Value a 5 since it seems worth it to the person I am right now.

Gives you good control over the viscosity of your ink. Other attempts such as Photo-Flo, etc are very hard to control, as they require minute quantities to be added to the ink. This one allows you to add manageable quantities, like 0.5 to 1 ml. Works as expected.

This review is for the Black Tongue Spider Orchid of the VD Wilderness Series. It is a nice plum color I used it in my Lamy 1.1mm and it was slightly lighter than when I used it in my Lamy M nib which came out a darker color which in my opinion and for my use, I liked better. It did not feather, bleed through with either pen and had no hard starts. It is not quite purple or burgundy but something in between. I do not know if I would use this particular ink again as for me, it is not my taste. I prefer something bright like the Sailor Fuyi Sugata or the Montegrappa Harry Potter Knight Bus Purple.
The ink is a quick drying ink so I could write the next lines rather quickly and overall performs well.

I love this ink. I use red when I review and mark up documents and the Firetail Finch is absolutely brilliant. It is a deep, vibrant red that really gets your point across. It flows well and I’ve had no issues with it at all. The bottle is epic too. I definitely recommend.

The color I purchased has a strange and amazing connection to me which I will get to at the end. The color is a rich, deep blue which just plain, ole looks good on the page. Flow is consistent and smooth with a hint of shading. Being from Australia gives the ink some extra points. Van Dieman's is assembling quite a collection of wondrous colors and a collection is lacking without at least a few. Robert Oster has some competition. I have the Devil's Kitchen, named for a lake. I fish at a lake in Southern Illinois by the same name.

Just received the red lightening color and I LIKE it!!!! It is a darker red that leans slightly orange and it has a very fine shimmer that shows up in the big swatch but is not very noticeable in a writing sample. I was pleasantly surprised!!!

I'm crazy about this shade: Azure Kingfisher. It's the first Van Diemen's ink I've tried and I'm a fan. This one is incredible, how it goes down onto the page blue and as it dries the light chartreuse shimmers rises. I need to try other Van Diemen's shimmers.

I bought the Abyss. It is in my brand new AERO, with EF nib.. I may never need any other ink and pen . 100% delighted.
Oh i did buy the light yellow green of this series.
In my past experiences with yellow- greens they are plagued with flow problems.. ( Alan Hills colorverse- i adore that color but it gave me performance issues)
Not Van Dieman's "Sea Dragon"
ink.. I bought this ink to pair with an Opus 88 "Halo" ( ulta clear) pen.. what a beautiful sight to see and functional... If you are asking your self "should I try Van Dieman's Inks.?" The answer is ABSOLUTE YES.
If the underwater series is a little too "experimental" for your tastes.. i implore you to try things from their eariler series .. if still
available ... i have put all my previous ink choices away or have given them away to FP friends..I now have just my favorite Van Diemans and 2 DeAtramentis and one teal Akkerman ink, in my oresentlt inked pens. Lots of non stop use without fussing about performance issues.

I kinda just had to purchase an ink called Ruby Slippers from Wizard of OZ.
The red ink does have a kinda sparkle to it.

I really like these inks. I have summer tiger snake and winter morning frost. The colors are great. The shimmer for morning frost smears when dry though, which isn’t something I usually experience with shimmer inks.

I love the deep color of this ink. I really wish it was the shimmering version but I’ll take what I can get from this brand.

This ink is so gorgeous. It does need to be shaken periodically to keep the particles in suspension, but I have used it on Tomoe River and Life paper and it is stunning. I did include a drop on my colo-ring testing book page and found that the particles can smudge off, but the written words did not smudge there.

I like the saturation and quick drying time. Color is reminiscent of D’Atrementis Document Grey but with a gold shimmer. Subtle.

Van Dieman's Wilderness ink in Azure Kingfisher is a beautiful medium turquoise with a gold shimmer. When first using from the new bottle, not much gold gets drawn up, so the shimmer is very intermittent, but this will improve as you get further down in the bottle. The color is so nice, you won't care. Good quality ink.
