Customer Reviews

This is a unique pen that extends/retracts the nib through barrel rotation similar to the Lamy Dialog/Dialog cc. The Ebonite material is a really nice pattern and feels warm to the touch. The pen is a nice size for hands that are on the larger size. The nib makes for a very interesting writing experience.

The Etruria Rainbow Prisma 88 is a truly beautiful pen and the nib is nice giving a little line variation, but it's a little larger than I prefer.

Quite impressive in person and nice to write with. I like that the fine nib is not as thick as other European pens.

This is a gorgeous pen that exudes craftsmanship, A large pen but very well balanced, it has an oversized feel and look. The 18 K nib writes smooth with a little feedback, it's on the dry side for a medium nib. It's clearly a step above your run of the mill pen, it's impressive.

I love this pen! It is a little thicker and I like that. The resin is beautiful. The metal detailing is quality. The nib is smooth. I bought this for myself for Christmas and I am so glad I did. I buy Conklin pens for the price point. This Stipula is worth paying more. I do have a few pen more expensive than this one, but I prefer this.

Beautiful pen with excellent balance in the hand. The nib is smooth, and the ink flow is generous. I find Stipula nibs to be a bit finer than you would expect from Other European makes. This broad nib is equivalent to the medium nib on my Parker Duofold Centennial.

Beautiful, comfortable pen with a pretty nice non gold flex nib. I wouldn’t mind owning a few more. The color is so much richer in real life

The pictures on the web don't do this pen justice. The depth of clarity of the resin used in this pen is stunning. It only takes 1 turn to close the cap. The pen has unobtrusive threads at the end of the section. The filling mechanism is nice (piston), and the nib is OK. The nib on my pen is a Bock EF, which was "tuned" at the Stipula factory. The nib seems to run a little dry.

I hate to say it but I have a lot of pens. But this one is definitely in my rotation, it is a great writer, comfortable in my hand and very attractive.

Excellent ink! This ink has great colors that shade very nicely. There isn't much sheening, though, which I find as a positive. The ink does not seem lubricated, but is moderately wet. I especially love Sapphron in a wide nib. The only negative is the rubber stopper in the bottle. It takes some finesse to remove. I use a table knife to very gently pry it loose. Make sure that when you get close to opening it that you put a tissue or paper towel over it because it will let off some pressure and ink drops with it. Once I have the stopper out, I pour some in a smaller vial or clean empty bottle. I then replace the rubber stopper, and use the ink that is in the vial/bottle. That way, I can keep the stopper in to prevent evaporation and don't have the hassle of taking the stopper off everytime I refill my pen.

This is a favorite pen because of its visual appeal and smooth writing (1.1 stub). My only complaint is that when the ink gets particularly low there are plenty of hard starts...but that's not all bad as it reminds me to refill!

Very Beautiful ink to write with- Flawless performance.
I have a Benu Camielion inked with this.
I use this pen to write ( very legible in EF) emphasis with, without resorting to a red in.
My friend got this in an ink sample.. i tried it .. frll in love.. i loved it so much i was going to have it elope with me... but that would not be ethical so i bought a bottle.. This is always inked in that triangular dark purple Benu pen.

This pen is a lovely, magnificent writer. A bit wet, if one has to deal with less than stellar paper; but that might have been the ink. (Stipula Calamo Sepia. Looks great! Glad I got a full bottle!) Still, this beautiful pen is my best Every Day Carry pen.

I purchased most of the colors. They have beautiful shading qualities and a couple of them have subtle sheen. The colors are vibrant and they do well on different papers and in different pens. The bottle and packaging isn't eye-popping, but handsome in a utilitarian way. Will probably buy the rest of the colors as I'm really happy with the ones I bought.

My Seagreen Stipula Adagio is one of the nicest pens I've ever owned. It looks beautiful, has a great feel in the hand and a wonderfully smooth nib, and effortlessly writes with the lightest of pressures. It has a nice, large ink capacity as well. It's quickly become one of my favorite pens. Plus, the Verde Risorgimento "Italian Flag Green". ink that came with it is beautiful and flows very nicely. Especially with the Seagreen version of the Adagio the ink is an excellent pairing.
If I can quibble about anything, it's that I wish it had an ink window or a little more barrel transparency, and I wish the pen were about 10-15 mm longer. It's useable for me unposted but the butt of the barrel rests in the web of my thumb. Add the fact that this isn't a pen I'd recommend posting (metal cap threads on a faceted resin barrel doesn't sound like a good idea to me!), and you have a somewhat short pen that's perhaps not as well suited to long writing sessions as it might otherwise be.
Hey Stipula! Maybe put in about a 10 mm ink window between the resin barrel and the metal section? That would kill two birds with one stone! ??

I love the colors in this series and was surprised at the size of the bottle (I didnt pay attention to the “70 ml” when I ordered. This is a great value and a great ink!

You have to have this pen in yiur hand to appreciate the beautiful job the artisans did with the acrylic resin. Haven't inked it yet, but I'm sure this nib is going to give a great writing experience. A special order, but arrived quickly.

This is, to my eyes, a very fat/thick pen. If that's your preference, then this should be a candidate. I generally prefer slimmer pens. Thickness aside, I love the gold leaf-patterned cap band and the chatoyant resin barrel and cap. One of the advantages of a thicker pen is that it shows off a patterned resin better, and this is no exception. All in all, it's a lovely pen.

Excellent quality inks in some interesting colors. This time I tried the lighter Fading Gray which is a beautiful color and has excellent shading as well. Not too light, remains readable on white and cream papers. The large amber bottles are especially nice and help keep the ink fresh and protected from UV damage. Easy to clean from every pen, nice flow that dries quickly and at a great price, there's no cons. Another great ink from Stipula. Thanks to PenChalet for carrying this line.
