Retro 51 Tornado Vintage Metalsmith Rollerball Pens Reviews
I gave one of the USS Geo. Washington "submarine" commemorative roller-ball pens to my son on his starting a new job. He has not had a "good pen" before. I'm a fountain pen junkie and have a modest collection of those, but when I saw the flyer from Pen Chalet about this new Retro 51 Roller Ball model, I was personally taken by it and the new job was the perfect excuse to see an alternate to a fountain pen in a use I can monitor occasionally. I liked the hefty feel of it and I think I will order myself one of these pens soon. Bonus -- it is unusual enough in appearance that this pen will not "walk away" from his desk!

Periodic Elements - very detailed and clear. Colors are commented on, frequently. As with any Retro pen I have owned, the twist to open/close is very smooth and quiet. No rattling parts. Multiple refill options are great as well.

Bought the ‘Dr. Gray’ as a gift but had to try it out first to make sure it worked! Wow, buttery smooth, uniform line and the weight and balance of the pen was a delight. There is some weight to it but not enough to impact longer writing sessions. The fit and finish is what you would expect from a quality pen such as this and the fact that this particular model glows in the dark is a cool and quirky bonus.Suppose I’ll have to get one for myself!

This is my first rollerball pen after a handful of fountain pens, and it is a joy to write with. The rollerball glides smoothly across any paper, and the ink is a dark, vivid black. Fountain pens are my first love but once in a while they aren't as convenient, so this beautiful pen is the perfect solution.

As a chemist I find the Dmitri Tornado especially appealing with its Periodic Table of the Elements graphic. It is a well made pen, easy to grip because of its extra girth. I like it so well that I also bought the stainless steel version as an extra.

Gave as a gift; the recipient loves it and is keeping it at the office so his wife doesn't take it! Great themes and they write well.
