I have one little container of silicone grease — I bought it for repair/maintenance reasons, just to have it on hand in case I needed it. For the price, that’s an easy thing to do. I’ve been surprised to find how frequently I use it. It’s invaluable for greasing the threads on the section prior to using a pen as an eye-dropper. But I’ve also found that a small amount applied to barrel or cap threads when the pen is hard to open or squeaks takes care of the problem easily — kind of like a WD-40 for pens!

My first use of silicone grease.Good product. It may be obtained cheaper at a hardware store, but this offering is superior for my needs. It is substantially thicker than the initial amount furnished by TWSBI OR as obtained in Lowe's.

I bought the silicone grease to seal an old Waterman pen from an estate sale which appeared to be eye dropper fill, but which had no sealing mechanism. Applying the grease liberally to the threads provides the necessary seal and makes the pen leak free. I am happy with the purchase, which made the pen useable.

This is a handy item to have if you own fountain pens. A little goes a long way. I've used this a countless number of times. It helped with a Noodler's Konrad pen when the piston got a little tight to move up and down. Some fountain pens I bought had such a squeaky noise when I unscrewed them. I add just a tiny bit of this and no more of the squeaky noise.
