If you are a fountain pen user these are a must have. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but when you need them you'll be glad you made the purchase.

I cannot always use expensive fountain pen paper, but some nibs are more finicky about picking up fibers. I actually needed these brass shins to fix the nib in my first $50 fountain pen, along with a loupe and micro mesh grit; and I’m a lady in my 60s. The brass shims et al has the pen writing better than how I received it from another retailer! Thank you , Pen Chalet!

I decided I wanted to have brass shims available for some touchy pens, to see if it would help. It does seem to. Another tool in my toolbox. Thanks!

Standard 0.002 brass sheet in handy size for "flossing" nibs and to help "tune" them. Work well.

These brass shims are soft enough not to pose a risk to your nibs, and they do a great job of removing trapped fibers and lint from the nib's slit. They are also thick enough to induce a small spread if the nib is pinched shut, aiding ink flow.

Super helpful product. When corners get too worn, just cut it off.

Nice cut pieces of brass. I have tuned a few nibs with this and it has helped to make it flow a bit more wet. I’ll definitely return to buy more when the occasion arises.
