I love everything about this pen except filling it. It is a good weight, the ease of retracting the nib means the pen doesn't dry out from being left uncapped, and I love going clickity-clack with the button as I ponder. I do find that it doesn't hold as much as ink as I would like, and that it, like other PIlots I have, is messier to fill than my other pens. Good nib, beautiful pattern. Pen Chalet has awesome customer service, too!

I ordered the VP in Red/Gold, fine nib - I struggled with ordering this pen because of the cost and I wasn't sure about the clip location, the variance in nib sizes, or whether I needed this one or the smaller Decimo VP. I was pliantly surprised with everything about this pen! I absolutely love it and it was worth the leap of faith! The clip actually assists you in gripping the pen correctly to ensure the appropriate nib contact when writing and it does not at all bother my writing process. The red/gold colors are elegant and beautiful, and the pen fits my medium sized hand perfectly. I have many fountain pens, but this one was the most expensive I have purchased and I never realized the difference in a "more expensive" pens - very worth it!

Vanishing Point pens are weird looking. Admit it. But I have found them to be of outstanding quality and durability. Unlike many "show pony" fountain pens, these can be your every day carry pen. They NEVER leak. I use mine every day at work and the Japanese quality is flawless.

I don't have anything new to add that hasn't been said: it looks just a little odd, and works like a dream. Some have a hard time with the clip being down at their fingertips, but for me it is a perfect fit. The clip falls exactly between my fingers and it is almost like a stabilizer when I'm writing. This looks to be my primary workhorse. I got both the fine and the medium nibs so it handles a lot of my needs. I have a fine point Faber-Castell which is somewhere between the two Pilot nibs and between the three it takes care of most of what I write. I love this pen.

My first mid-range pen and, for a student, it is wonderful. The click lets me avoid twisting a cap on and off throughout lectures. The blue-carbonesque is lovely too.

This is the perfect pen to carry in a shirt pocket and use throughout the work day. A fine nib works well on copy paper, and you don't have to keep up with a cap.

I ordered the Stormtrooper color On a Medium nib, and unfortunately didn’t have a good experience. The pen hard started and skipped like crazy and had to be sent back. When the pen wrote, it was phenomenal, but I decided to just return it and go for something else. A pen over $100 shouldn’t have QC issues. The Pilot Metro is consistently wonderful for 1/10th the price. I wish there were more options for retractable nib FP’s out there.

Love the matte finish. The nib writes smoothly. It feels balanced in my hand. The clicking sound is very satisfying.

My only issue is the location of the clip. I find it gets in the way when I am writing. It takes getting used to.
