A small, light pen instrument that is well built and has a solid feel. Easily carried and little fatigue with long sessions, this pen makes a great traveler. Subdued, clean lines make it quite classy without being pretentious. A fine writer with forgiveness would allow a beginner to use it with confidence.

Very nice looking pen. This is my first piston filler, and I like the filling mechanism very much. The nib and feed unscrew from the front of the section for cleaning or replacement, but you shouldn't have to do this much.

The fit and finish are very nice; there are molding marks (seems) in places, but they are not very noticeable and don't both me. It is, after all, a molded plastic mass-produced pen, not a lathe-turned artisanal pen.

My problem with this pen is that it just doesn't write very well for me. It will often miss the first up-stroke if it's been sitting a minute or longer, capped or not. Thereafter it writes fine, if a little unevenly. The flow is fast and very wet on copy paper, and a little light on Rhodia, but quite nice on Tomoe paper. I wish it were a little more consistent. I like the medium nib (when it's writing...) because it puts down enough color for effect, but not so much that letters become blobs.

The nib is also *very* flexible. Don't push too hard!

I'm working with customer service on the flow issue and hope to have an update.

My new taupe M205 with "B" nib is a lovely pen. It's on its first fill of Pilot iroshizuku yu-yake. The nib arrived with a bit of baby's bottom but that was easily corrected and now it writes like a dream. I'm very, very pleased with this Fountain Pen Day purchase. Thank you Pen Chalet!

This is a workhorse pen that looks great; the rhodium furniture adds a modern design touch and the piston fill gives it a larger ink capacity...and you can't beat Pen Chalet's price!

This fountain pen, with a Broad nib, surprised me by being an excellent writer right out of the box.
A little more length, girth and weight would have suited me better. However, it is not an uncomfortable pen to write with despite my large hands.
As for value, I feel it is priced too high (even after the discount) considering the materials used.
That said, I would recommend this fountain pen.

This is my first $100+ range fountain pen and it's in a different class to write with, the nib is beautifully smooth and wet without being overly wet and I had no issues with flow when I started using it. The nib does dry out quite quickly uncapped so not a pen to leave sitting around. The piston mechanism filled without any air bubbles first time which I've yet to master on any of my other cheaper pens.

My only issue is that the pen build doesn't feel like a $100+ pen thanks to the mostly plastic build and light weight, I feel like I paid for a quality nib and piston filler but the outside construction lets it down.

Also an observation about the white colour is it shows anything that is stuck to it (ie. dust or dirt from my desk, inky fingerprints from filling), I wouldn't pick the white if I were to purchase another as I spend half my time wiping something off. I also wouldn't fill it with any inks with a hard to clean reputation as I did get some ink spatter from Noodlers Saguaro Wine on the grip when I filled it which smeared everywhere when I wiped it off with a tissue (it did come clean with a damp cloth). I hate to think what a smeared ink with a staining reputation might do to it.

I purchased the White Tradition 205 because it was available in a fine nib, which is the size I prefer. The delivery was quickly made and the packing was very well done. This pen uses a steel nib, and this one writes very smoothly. I wanted another Pelikan for my collection and this one was available at a good price. I was not disappointed. My only concern is staining the white surface with ink. So far so good.

This is a very smooth pen--but it's small in diameter and length. I find it a wet writer with Herbin Poussiere de Lune ink, but less wet with Pelikan Edelstein (Mandarine) ink. If you like a compact pen with a screw cap that posts, and a beautiful nib, this is a very good value for a Pelikan. I got the ivory white and it's a pretty pen. I'd say it's better for women, people with small hands, those who want a pen that is compact in a notebook or pocket. If you like a hefty pen, this is not for you.

I purchased the white version of this pen (Medium nib) and am very happy with the color. It stands out from the other pens in my collection.

I discovered a feature that I really appreciate when cleaning and changing ink: the nib and feed unscrew from the pen which really opens up the piston fill area as well as makes the nib and feed accessible for rinsing and cleaning.

The nib itself is more flexible than I expected, and after writing with it for a week now, I'm finding that I enjoy it.

I favor the screw caps on my fountain pens over the snap cap. This one threads very cleanly and securely.

I was surprised at how lightweight the pen is, which is either a plus or minus depending on your preference. For me, psychologically, I initially associated the lightness with a lack of quality, which is just not the case. The pen I received has an excellent fit and finish while writing and filling solidly.

Overall, this is a very good looking pen, a terrific value, and has been a pleasure to use.
