Monteverde Rodeo Drive Fountain Pens Reviews

This is a beautiful pen to look at, to be sure. It has a solid, weighty feel to it, but not so much that my hand gets tired after five minutes of writing. While I suppose it's technically capable of being posted, I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't post all that securely, and there is nothing to protect the beautiful finish on the body from the metal ridges and threads inside the cap, so I can see how it would easily scratch, and/or wear down the finish with repeated posting. The good news is that it's perfectly comfortable to write with un-posted. I've also experienced some flow issues. I gave it a thorough flushing before inking it up, but it seems I can't write more than 3/4 of a page before having to the prime the feed to get the ink flowing again. It writes great after I do that, at least for another page or so. Another thing I've noticed is that the nib sometimes squeaks when I write, not sure if it might have something to do with the black coating, but I'm hoping it will go away with time. All in all, I like this pen. It's very pretty, and it's comfortable to write with. I just wish the nib and feed were little better. Considering the great deal I got on this pen, I can't complain too much. However, had I paid full price for it, I'd likely be much more bothered by these issues.

It's almost ridiculous how pretty this pen is. For some reason I hadn't expected it to be this hefty, but I don't post my pen caps anyway so there's just enough weight to the barrel for the pen to feel secure in my hand without impeding my writing. The nib lays down a lovely fine line.

Pictures don't do the color of this pen justice, very cool. Plus, at a pretty good price.

Beautiful-looking pen, but the nib was scratchy and had to be returned for repair or replacement. Having to repair a brand new pen is rather disconcerting. Hopefully, this is not a common occurrence. I await the return of my pen. We'll see.

Love my Monteverde! Smooth as silk, lays down a beautiful line, it's my third MV and won't be my last. My only quibble is that I prefer threads on the body to post the cap. But it's a small quibble.

Great color combination! Green looks better in life than in photos.
