Monteverde Regatta Series Fountain Pens Reviews

I bought a yellow/black Monteverde Regatta (Sport), with the Stub nib. The pen is 5.375 inches long (6.25 inches posted), roughly 0.5 inches in diameter, and weighs a bit more than the typical FP. The cap closes and posts magnetically vs threading or snap ring, a relatively unique feature I particularly like. Overall quality is very good, even above average for the price. It balances nicely in the hand, posted or not. The stub nib is smooth, no burrs at edges and lays a clean italic-look line. I tend to conservative ratings.

I love the pen! There was a slight misunderstanding about shipping, but that was quickly resolved.

I have the black/yellow fountain pen and am enjoying its unique looks and great performance. Highlights for me are the carbon fiber bands (really cool!), the "knurled" accent rings, and the magnetic cap. The magnet in the cap is a strong one- there's no doubt about that- so capping and uncapping results in a satisfyingly audible CLICK! The black steel nib completes the look and is smooth and wet...quite excellent. This is a heavy pen (50 g overall; 32 g unposted), so I normally use it unposted and find the heft and balance to be just right. Highly recommended.

This is a really beautiful, well-engineered fountain pen, like all of the Monteverde pens are. Pen Chalet's customer service is phenomenal, and a shout out to Jill, who shepherded the transaction through to its conclusion. What a great company. I highly recommend them -- for price, selection and service, they just can't be beat!
