I hadn't been adding the Monza to my collection because I didn't really need another "cheap" pen. But when they added the new flex nib, I thought, "hey, why not?". I love the new nib! And there's nothing cheap about this pen but the price. Beautiful intense color! Thank you, Pen Chalet!

This pen is loads of fun. It writes smoothly, the color is happy, and the Monteverde quality is present in every stroke of the pen. My only disappointment is that the cheaper pens from Japan and China are too similar for a fraction of the cost. In fact, I own a Jinhao that is exactly the same pen in style in color, right down to the banded logo. The ONLY difference is that the flex nib is proprietary to the Monza. I also wish it would come in other fun colors like fuchsia, purple (like the Platinum 3776) orange, red and royal blue.

I got 2 of these pens. One is very scratchy, to the extent I won't use it. The other is slightly better, but still not very smooth to write with. I wouldn't buy them again. The disposable fountain pens I buy for $3-4 are much better than these
