Leonardo Officina Italiana Momento Zero Fountain Pens Reviews

This is my fourth Momento Zero. They are beautiful pens and this one is no exception. I purchased the stub and I am having difficulties with this nib: starting and stopping, railroading, and not being as good of a writer as other nibs in this line. This is a Bock nib, I believe, and one that is probably friction-fit versus later nibs which screw on. I have tried the usual approaches (different paper, different inks, repeated flushings); the tines does not seem out of alignment. Just somewhat disappointing. Apparently, there have been some nib difficulties with Leonardo nibs historically but I thought they were on their way to being resolved.

Every Leonardo fountain pen I have purchased from PenChalet is beautiful. When I first heard of Leonardo pens, I didn’t like them. I thought that any pen manufacturer that gives a pen such a long name must be of poor quality. I buy all my pens from PenChalet and I began noticing a lot of Leonardo pens, they were advertising. So, I bought one. I was amazed at how nice these pens are. I paid less than 150 dollars for each pen. Not only are they beautiful pens, they are also well built.

I can't stop looking at this pen. This acrylic is just absolutely stunning. And the craftsmanship is fantastic. You can't see the seam between the section and the barrel at all. The pen feels really great in my hand. The finish is so smooth. I'm usually a broad nib person but decided to get a medium. It writes a little on the broad side which is perfect. I paired it with Diamine Arctic Blue which matches extremely well. I bought Colorverse Gravity Wave for this also but not tried it yet. If you can get your hands on one of these with the Blue Hawaii acrylic grab it before it's gone. I love this pen. It's also a super value.

Beautiful pen, nice size and super smooth steel nib. I am a gold nib girl but this steel nib convinced me that steel nibs can be equally smooth. Pen Chalet customer service is excellent!

Version black mate, gold, with medium nib. As all Leonardo fountain pens this one is also good writer. Writes very wet and smooth. Black mate color isn't truly black, rather very dark brown.

This is my third momento zero and the Pietra Marina is a great looking resin. As others have commented it is darker in person than most of the pictures you see online. Bock nib worked well out of the box and the usual good craftsmanship. My other two Zero's have super smooth threads but unfortunately this one does not, despite using some silicone grease. Just a bit coarse or grindy. On the other hand, the cap bands on this one are flush to the body unlike my other two which stick out a bit on one side. Perhaps the mark of a handmade product. But overall these are a good value for an Italian pen with lovely materials.

Absolutely stunning pen body. A few problems getting the converter to fill without massive amounts of air however.

What a gorgeous pen this Momento is! Talk about eye candy and not expensive, either. Pen Chalet was quick to get the pen on its way to me. I will definitely buy from them again!

I bought for my birthday the Leonardo Momento Zero Pietra Marina fitted with an extra-fine nib.
The fountain pen is really beautiful and the nib is great, wet, soft. It glides on the paper easily. I chose the Sailor Jentle Sky High ink and I enjoy writing with my fountain pen. A good price for an excellent fountain pen. Very happy.

This pen is amazing. The steel nib is smooth and has a slight bounce. The pen body itself is a nice color. The converter that comes with it is huge, and the pen is girth-y and nice to hold. On rare occasions it does have a hard start though, but I'm very happy overall.
