The Vibrant Pink special edition Al-Star is a beautiful color and a sturdy pen. This is my second Lamy (the other is a Joy), and even though I've tried different inks, even with the matching special edition Vibrant Pink ink intended to be used with this pen, I find it to feel very dry as I write with it. The Joy was the same, but not being familiar with these pens, I had hoped it was just the ink choices, especially given that others seem to rave about how incredible all of the Lamy pens are. Perhaps just not "my" favorite, but a quality pen, nonetheless. I still consider the pen to be of excellent quality, functionality, style, value - just a bit too dry of a writer for my preference.

When editing the books and stories I write, I have always detested using red ink, as I see it as being very negative. However . . . this Vibrant Pink Lamy Al-Star has intrigued me since its release. Finally, I decided that using THIS pen filled with Pink ink would not have the same negative appearance that red ink would, so I finally relented and purchased the pen. And I couldn't be happier. This pen writes great, looks great, and feels great.

I got it on a whim because it was discounted, and people are always on about how great Lamy pens are. Good call. I really enjoy writing with this, to the extent that it is now one of my favorite pens. It writes ridiculously smoothly.

I didn’t think if was possible to enjoy using a pen that cost less than $30, but it is! The nib doesn’t skip or scratch and the ink flows freely. I am making it my “everyday” pen and putting the fancy one back in the drawer...likely to gather dust.

I have been a Lamy user since I was a little girl so now it's about collecting different colors. I love the price, how the nibs can easily be changed. I was scared this would be a pink pink but it's more like a magenta. Love it. And as usual it arrived in good shape and on time.
