Very light, came with a short international cartridge, the medium nib is exceptional. Very smooth and focused. Better than I expected.

Great pen. The only choice of nib in medium lets the whole package shine, like keeping it focused was a good thing. The finish on my red model is a matte plastic; it is extremely light. Posting the cap is finicky. It can post snugly if you push but it gets stuck. The nib is smooth as can be, however.

I purchased this pen out of curiosity and price. Pen Chalet had the pen at a good price in a medium point nib, so I thought I would try. So far I haven't been disappointed. Would I prefer a finer nib? Yes, but for the price it can't be beat.

Magnums may be my favorite pens. I bought several to use with different ink colors. They always write right out of the box and are smoother than most of my many expensive pens.

Ink flow not consistent

A great starter fountain pen. No hassle, no mess...smooth ink delivery...highly recommend

I heard about this pen from a Pens and Tea video. Bought my first one loved the way it wrote and went back and bought the second one.
The first pen I bought the nib wrote smoothly right out the box. The second pen the nib needed a little fine tuning but instead I chose to swap out the "M" nib for a "F". They are a joy write with. The pen does feel light in weight but one can post it to add little more weight. It is a greater starter pen and it uses standard international cartridges. The pens are on sale so you can't go wrong buying one.

This exactly what I was looking for in a fountain pen. My previous two pens have been Pilot Metropolitan and Lamy Safari. The Pilot is a great pen, very smooth and trouble free. I've never really liked the aesthetic, though. It's a little too fancy as if belongs in a bank. The Safari has an aesthetic that I like better although I've never been impressed with the pen. The nib feels scratchy and I often have rough starts. It's also HUGE. The large size draws a lot of attention and is uncomfortable for me to use.

The Magnum is perfect. The aesthetic is subdued and proletarian much more to my liking. The size is great. Its thin body makes it look like a regular pen and although it's a nice-looking pen, it doesn't draw much attention.

The performance is great. I popped a cartridge in and it worked immediately. Not as smooth as the Metropolitan but nowhere near as scratchy as the Safari. To me, it's perfect.

Pen Chalet was great. I live in Tucson which is about 100 miles from Pen Chalet. Amazingly, I received my order the next day after ordering. Not saying this will be the case for everyone but the order was packed and shipped immediately. Will definitely order again.

So, I have 4 of these Diplomat Magnums...Gray, Blue and 2 Red...Love the springy nibs and lightweight feel. Very consistent writing between the four....At $12.50...Do yourself a favor and stock up before they're gone.
