Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pens Reviews
I like this pen and the fine point. Attractive and writes well, but somewhat bottom-heavy when cap it posted. Like the fact that replacement nibs are available for Conklin- May order one with my next order..

I admit I was a little surprised to see a round breather hole in the nib instead of a crescent-shaped one, but that in no way detracted from the pen's performance. Once again I am thoroughly pleased with another Conklin pen. I am up to eleven of them now.

I purchased a Cracked Ice Duragraph with stub nib in the end-of-year inventory reduction sale. The pen itself is very nice. I like the size and feel, and it balances well in my hand. I did have one problem, though. The nib was extremely rough, hard to write with, and ran dry constantly. Looking under magnification I realized the tines were of uneven length and didn't appear to have ever gone through any finish grinding or smoothing. I contacted Pen Chalet and the sent me out a replacement nib immediately and at no cost to me. The new nib works great and the pen is now a joy to write with. I'm now very happy with both the pen itself and with Pen Chalet's customer service. Thanks!

This is probably my favorite fountain pen. It has such a smooth writing experience. The flex nib adjusts with my own hand pressure. I have a movement disorder and this feature for me works quite nicely.

This is a fantastic pen. The only drawback is that it can be pretty top heavy with the cap on. To prevent fatigue, I just leave the cap off while using it.

When my Durograph arrived I just loved the look and feel of the pen and the turquoise color. I did not love the flex nib and wished I had ordered my usual fine or extra fine. The nib railroaded and then dead stopped after every few words or, at most, few sentences, if I was lucky. But I loved everything else about the pen so much that I kept on using it. As long as I just wrote normally it wrote fine. The only problem was it started out quite wet and gradually got drier. Ink starvation, I suppose, but a milder case as that goes. However, gradually, over time, I flexed on a few letters here and there without problems, so I flexed more often. And the pen also remained consistently wet. In short, the feed cannot sustain flow with the pressure needed to flex for very long but it can do so for longer than it could initially. It is now an excellent daily writer with some line variation and enhanced shading. Robert Oster Fire and Ice is a perfect match for the pen, both color- and performance-wise! I don't know if the pen I got had the old or the newer and reportedly improved durables nib, but I'm not going to buy another to try and find out. I think I have finally learned to lower my hopes and expectations for modern flex nibs. When I really want good and consistently good flex, I'll use my vintage Waterman, or buy another vintage pen. I could have bought more than one with the money I've spent on modern flex pens that don't really flex as advertised.

I got this pen with the flex nib for the Black Friday Sale. I am very pleased with it. It has quickly become one of my every day carry pens. I use Pilot ink in it and find it writes extremely well. My only complaint was that the nib is a bit longer than what I am used to (TWSBI Echo), but once I got to used to it, this pen quickly became a go-to for me. I would gladly purchase another, especially at the black Friday sale price. Pen Chalet shipped this quickly and securely. I will definitely do business with them again.

Great customer service. The nib that came with the pen was scratchy and skipped. Pen Chalet took care of it right away by sending me a replacement nib, which is working great. I really appreciate the speed and ease of working with their customer service department.

I got an Amber and a Forest Green pen during the Fountain Pen Days sale. Paired with (approximately) matching Monteverde inks (Copper Noir and California Teal), they are truly great pens.
On receipt, they both wrote wetter than I liked with their fine nibs. Repositioning the nib a little further out on the feed took care of that, and now they write as well as my Limited Edition Crescent Filler does -- which is to say, extremely well. They are both keepers.
