I bought a second nib for my Pilot Decimo, which I bought with a medium nib. I love the medium, but it doesn't work well on some very low quality paper I need to use up. I use the Fine nib for writing on that, and the Medium for higher quality paper. Both do their jobs extremely well.

I love the vanishing point. The stub is a good nib size for letters, and note taking. It is subtle in its line variance just enough to make the letters interesting.
I use the fine tip as well as this stub nib regularly. As far as an everyday use fountain pen ?? the Pilot VP is one of the best!

These vanishing point refills are very good and easy to use; however I have found that the nib sizes to her closer to the European size than the Japanese size. For instance there's a very big step from the medium and the fine nib. The medium nib is extremely broad and very juicy, whereas the fine is what one may expect in a Japanese nib.
