Robert Oster Signature Ink(50ml) Fountain Pen Ink Reviews
I have a obsession with RO inks… I’ve tried probably 30-40 inks of theirs and own about 20 full size bottles and am in love with every single one. Each one has its own special wow factor though due to the large range, some base colors do look really similar with varying shading and sheening colors which is why I have 20 instead of all 40 full sizes lol. But I’ve only mainly explored their blues and purples. So I probably will end up with more then 40 of their full size inks in the near future once I get to the other color families.

A more satisfying shade of brown, love it the most from among all shades of brown.

I have always found the RO inks to be dependable, high-quality inks and this one is no different. I paired "Thunderstorm" with the Monteverde Mount Everest of the Mountains of the World Series pen with a fine nib and it works perfectly. I have always found the Monteverde pens to be very dry with any ink, but this one is very smooth, has a balanced wetness, and is pretty on the page. I expected a sheen or sparkle to this one, but did not see that with the fine nib - still is a pretty and rich black color option, though (and yes, it leans more toward a true black than dark gray with the fine nib).

While this ink is not my all time favorite, it is right up there on the chart.

Robert Oster Motor Oil is a wonderful subtle off-black with green-brown undertones that give your writing the look of an antique manuscript. Very nice flow and well-behaved even with flex and extra-broad nibs. A favorite!

I have several blue inks, but Soda Pop Blue really jumped out from the pack. It has nice shading properties and the hue is lively yet still useable in professional settings.

LOVE these ink: I have Black Violet (one of my favorite blackish ink), Great Southern Ocean (bought it out of nastalgia: I miss being camping at the shore of GSO), Bronze (GREAT), and Grun Schwarz (haven't gotten to it much). But after trying many brands, I am very happy to discover R Oster: I love the simplicity and practicality of the bottles and the no non-sense reliable ink of rich colors (well behaved, does not feather..etc.)
