Beautiful color, but I was unaware that it contains material that would clog a pen. I must only use it with a dip pen. Money wasted. Lesson learned.

Lovely color! It initially looks more lavender/burgundy, gets darker as it dries but still maintains a dark burgundy color at its darkest. I've used it with both medium & broad nibs. This (Platinum's Lavender-Black) as well as Rohrer & Klingner's Scabiosa are both work appropriate & great for everyday writing.

I really like the Sepia Black color. Some say it has a green tint, if it does, it subtle. The color shift isn't as great as other platinum classic if inks, but I still like the color.

To update, I replaced the Penmanship with a Pilot Kakuno with a fine nib. This pen does put down enough ink to make the color change readily visible. This may be the ultimate combination for doing these puzzles in ink.

The result: Even on his frankly miserable paper, the ink isn't bleeding through. It is barely even showing through. This pen isn't putting down enough ink to show off the color change, but the ink is performing admirably well in the task I set it to. And it is a tough task at that.

Oh, Baby - I have a new favorite Red!!!! I have a fondness of the inks that come out of Japan and Asia because of their qualities and this one knocks it out of the Park! This Classic line of inks have Black mixed in with them and the way the colors compliment each other is just Crazy Cool!!! I use it in my fountain pen converters and in my brush pen converters and the performance is great from both mediums.

Found the ink colour rather difficult to like. A bit dry in use. Platinum is a good company but these Classic inks are not my favourite. Like the Mix Free better.
