I bought both the Citrus-Black and Cassis-Black Platinum classic inks. These are both iron gall content inks that are highly water resistant (only the dye washes off, the black iron content stays on the paper, remaining perfectly legible). As a lefty, I tend to run my hand over what I write and smear it (unless I'm using a blotting paper)so I prefer water resistant inks. However, this is just one, albeit great feature of this ink.
What is really the best about this ink is how well it handles any type of paper, cheap or high quality, it doesn't bleed or feather. Also the shading of these inks is just spectacular, as well as the slow darkening of the writing in the next few minutes after the ink dries. The resulting colors are just awesome! There are total of 6 colors in this new series, so I'm looking forward to getting the rest at some point. This is a slightly drier ink, so that's why it behaves so well on cheap papers.
In addition, this was my first purchase at Pen Chalet, and I was very happy with how it turned out. The shipping was prompt and the product was adequately protected. Thank you!

Goes down bright candy red and deepens in minutes to a dark cherry. In a fine flex nib the shading is phenomenal, and I love the iron gall permanence.
